Spurs have some of the best young players in Europe *according to this website's analysis* - more than most other clubs, and more than some clubs with a tradition of developing young players.

* Players born on or after 01/01/1992 - At least 50% of minutes since the start of the season

Spurs have four players in these lists of the top 15 players in several positions as calculated by an assessment of "performance indicators" - more than most other clubs

Not sure how their analysis works, Phil Jones as the best young CB in the world, Wilfred Zaha ahead of Eriksen in midfield ranking and Kane further down the list than I would've expected.

If Dier had played in 50% of minutes do we think he would if made the list too?
Before reading I assumed the 4 would've been Kane, Dier, Bentaleb and Eriksen. Lamela was a slight surprise, but a good number of assists this season and a couple of goals, nice to see.

I cerainly wouldn't base a "shopping list" on this list.
Phil Jones ahead of Marqinhos, Varane and Laporte.
Veratti and Pogba listed as DM.
But there are some good prospects there too of whom I hope Spurs are able to get this summer.

How these rankings work is never clear but there's a general point here. We have a young squad and we will probably finish sixth. Take the starting eleven against city and I expect, not unreasonably, Dier, Rose, Mason, Bentaleb, Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli and Kane to be better next year. That's 7 out of 11 and not many teams can say that. Will they improve enough for us to be title contenders? If I'm honest probably not. But we're going in the right direction.
