So we're out of the Europa and many are saying it's because our young players are not yet good enough. I don't agree with this.
We could play a make shift team of:
Gomes, Corluka, Galas, Bassong, Rose, Dos Santos, Livermore, Carroll, Townsend, Krancjar and Pav and I still we'd have struggled.
The reason being that:
Kaboul strugled in our first two games but once we introduced Parker to protect the defence our central defence has looked much more assured. Playing Livermore next to Modric will leave any defensive partnership exposed and it's no wonder Bassong and Gallas looked weak in the Europa.
So is playing a very young team resting the vast majority of our first team in the EL and CC really going to benefit them?
Keeping the team dynamic the same by playing a DM like Parker or Sandro next to Livermore would surely have helped him put in a more confident peformance.
Putting a make shift team together can't be good for developing our young players and is even worse with regards to implementing them into the first team.
For this season our main aim is to get in the top four so it's understandable that we rested our first team players especially as we have had injuries. But as far as playing as developing our young players goes, fielding a team full of youngsters and not having the same team dynamic that we play in the league really can't have helped their development that much.

The reason being that:
- The team don't play together often enough to have any understanding of each other.
- We are not playing like for like with the team that is performing successfully in the league.
- Too many players not match fit to last the whole 90 minutes.
