I still think Big Sam is the best English manager, although it is because there are no good English managers

I just had a thought, maybe he was deeply affected by the Manchester bombing an decided to revaluate his priorities in life.
They said on talk sport this morning he knew someone who died (pure speculation on their part perhaps).
Not being funny, he doesn't have to work and he's 62, I'd do exactly the same as him!

I think that's unfair, it's the English Premier League but how many clubs are English owned.

Owners want a sexy name most of the time and this results in a lot of good lower league English managers not getting a chance

I personally think Eddie Howe is. The job he has done at Bournemouth is frankly incredible and if Poch ever left, I would like him to become our manager.

Really strange, just yesterday daytime I was thinking that for a decent manager he'd had to chop and change so many times since Bolton that he'd never really had a long innings somewhere else and now at Palace it looked like he had that opportunity. Several hours later, he's gone. Weird

I can see why he's done it. He clearly wanted the England job to be his swan-song, and when that went big man-tits up he wanted one more job to try and save his legacy a bit.

He's done that by keeping Palace up and there's only really a risk of that diminishing if he stays.

Bit of a kick in the teeth for Palace though. I reckon they'll be all over Marco Silva now.

man is a massive end piece. He has probably only retired as he knows something is coming

Probably linked to the tax investigation going on at West Ham and Newcastle.
