Lee Sharpe and Paul Merson really cocked their careers up and they were very, very talented. Injuries really screwed Andertons, Redknapps and David Hirsts careers.

They could all have had good England careers but different circumstances meant they were never to be.

I believe Chris Bart-Williams was supposed to be the nuts, but Waddle broke him. Not by kicking him, but by going out on the lash.

I thought Lee Sharpes was down to injury.
Mine would be Best and Gazza, two of the best players to ever play, yet mentally.. well, not sure what to say really, if so many people tell you your great, then you do start to believe the hype after a while.

Stephane Dalmat. Showed flashes of absolute brilliance at Inter and I was suprised he didnt turn into a full on superstar, even clung on to that belief when he came to us but all that showed was why he was never going to be a world beater - cos he's an idiot.

George Best and Gazza are the 2 stickouts - the rest were never on their level to begin with....
