"...what they presented is remarkable. Russia is not a country but a continent and Russia has big plans to expand.
“Listen, it (England's bid) is the easiest bid in the world. They have the football already organised. They have everything. England has no problem in delivering a World Cup.
"The other bidders must convince the executive. England does not have to convince us.
"We know England can stage the World Cup. But England winning (the right to stage it) – I am not so sure."

Story

What? So it is our fault that we have everything organised? Look at all the troubles in the lead up to this World Cup and the Ukraine falling behind the building of their stadiums for 2012 as reasons why giving tournaments to countries without the required infrastructure is a risk.
I can't help feeling that England are deeply unpopular within FIFA and they are looking for reasons for England NOT to host the WC rather than reasons why we can.

Well I have a feeling that Russia will win the bid, as much as I hate to say it but I also get the feeling that Fifa, Uefa really do seem to have a problem with England. Hope i'm wrong as there's nothing i'd like more than to watch WC games at our new stadium.

FIFA have the same problem with England as every other country does in world politics - we're formally a bunch of tyrants who are, considering the land mass we are limited to, far too powerful in too many areas.

Us winning the bid would, to many countries, be like that woman who won Who Want's to be a Millionaire and later turned out to already be minted.

I think it is a good thing to distribute the world cup amongst many different nations. It gives people in different parts of the world a chance to see it and helps countries economically.

Not sure what problems you are referring to for this world cup (apart from some blown out of the proportion by the media) - it is ready to go.

Russian World Cup would be a nightmare, too much travel and too many mobsters with their hands in the til.

Fit girls though...:)

Fit girls though...:)

But you'd not see any of them as they'll all be in a converted warehouse showing their flange to American teenagers for a dollar a minute on webcam

Okay, not all of them, a lot of them are Eastern European too.

I understand what he`s trying to say but he should`ve put it differently or just kept his mouth shut. The reason we wont get the world cup is simple.
2012 - ENGLAND OLYMPICS
2014 - BRASIL WORLD CUP
2016 - BRASIL OLYMPICS
2018 - ENGLAND WORLD CUP? I dont think so.

UEFA, and in particular, Platini, have a problem with how the game is run in England. With teams winning the league and dominating year in year out while operating at a huge loss, thus making it impossible for teams to compete on an even playing field. Without wealthy benefactors it is impossible succeed in the Premier League. In every other league in Europe you have to operate within your financial means or face harsh penalties. If you operate in the red you get relegated in most european leagues. The Sky top 4 have not operated in the black for a long time and if Platini had his way they wouldn't be allowed compete in the champions league.

The bid is a bit of sham, basically the guys who organised criticised us and liverpool for not starting to build our new stadium, but gave nottingham a place in their provisional even though they have been refused planning permission by the county council

then didn't give derby a place even though they have had the highest average attendance (albiet sunderland and newcastle) despite being a bottom half team in the championship and are going to have a 44k stadium if they get promoted and stay they're for more than one season

bristol and milton keynes will have a bigger stadiums than it will reduced down to under 30k

then the some of the new stadiums in the last 4 world cups(2002-2014) have been unbelievable, whereas our two current new ones are wembley and emirates.

Though wembley and liverpools are unique arsenals is just a small stadium of light, which is in the portugal bid and ours may have some changes after the recent setback

For us to be to be picked we would have to refurbish the old stadiums whereas at the moment they been brought forward as old stadiums

I hope England gets 2018 then USA 2022.

England deserves another world cup and well, the USA will probably have every game attended by 60,000+ with the final getting over 92,000 if its in DC.
