we should have beaten Chelsea in the FA Cup 5 years ago. 3-1 up at half time and we fucked it up.

Lennon was terrific that game. I was annoyed when Jol took him and Berbatov off. I'm convinced we would've won if they stayed on.

Beating no team would give me more pleasure than Manchester United. Where I'm from there are loads of smug, arrogant fans, some of whom couldn't even name the first team, that I've had to endure whilst growing up. I can't properly remember the last times we beat them, being about 9-10 years old. Probably didn't seem that much of an event at the time.

Since then we've seen a winning goal not given, a 94th minute Tevez equalizer, a 2-0 lead squandered and all manner of dodgy, game changing decisions go against. Not to mention a few desperately disappointing surrenders, even against their second-string in cup games. The last half a dozen games have all felt like our best opportunity, none more so than the last home game, where both teams were almost full strength but cancelled each other out. Always a false dawn though.

The pessimist in me says that, whilst we might win at Stamford Bridge this season, the United hoodoo will go on.

That penalty Webb gave when we were 2-0 up and cruising still makes me so mad.

Time to make up for all these bad beats.

We'll beat Bolton away this season.

If we have our full first eleven fit for when United come to town I think we'll finally beat them.

3 nil up at home and at half time - and then to end up losing 5-3 just about tops the lot IMO.

My Dad to this day still bleats on about that and how I was jumping at half time giving it big that we were hammering them, only to capitulate in the second half.

Still rankles with me and as others have said, beating United would give me more pleasure than any other club - Arsenal and Chelsea included!

First things first.

We failed to win at St James. The big one, for me, is to win at Bolton.

We NEVER win at Bolton.

We have this mutual relationship whereby we fail to turn up at the Reebok and they phone in the result at WHL.

Yeah I neglected to mention that as I wasn't sure if it was before or after the current winless streak began, but I think it was just after. I also remember a 4-0 thrashing the same evening the family cat died. Took the day off school after that...
