does anyone have any stats on early kick-offs? that is games that kick-off before 2pm.

I have it in my head that they favour the home team, more proportionally than ordinary away fixtures, so I'm just looking to confirm my bias!

The reserves are on the bench. 'Reserve' games weren't very regular occurrences either.

Wasn't starting Palacios, Sandro and Kranjcar and bringing back Gomes 'rotating a bit'?

Thats fair point about reserve games not being regular. I might be wrong but think had something do with advise David Pleat gave the FA about reserve team football as before a couple of seasons ago im sure the reserve league used to be pretty much every week. Then all of sudden they changed it.

I think you can count Gomes out of the roating bit as if he wasnt suspended im 99.9% sure he would have played against Inter. I agree it was with Palacios and Kranjcar and Sandro but I would personally have gone further and also brought in Bentley, Pav, Jenas (Instead of Sandro) and maybe even Robbie Keane and Bassong. As I felt before yesterdays game there would be alot of tired legs from the Inter game and not wishing to use it as an excuse feel it was one of the main reasons for our poor display. Bale was good when he got the ball but as in the Everton game looked tired, Luka visable faded in second half after being out best player in first half I though Gallas & BAE looked tired as well. Specially with the amount of games our players are going to be involved in over next month or so would have been good excuse to freshen the side up and give the players who havent played alot recently a game.

Luka did fade in the second half, but it was more than just tiredness. It was going 4-4-2 and the shape of team changing. They steam rolled us in the seond in midfield. The change should of been Pav for Crouch. We were tired looking, out muscled in midfield.

Let's not forget that Bolton also played 442 with 2 proper wide players, we shouldn't make an excuse of being too open having played 442 for half of the game.

Praising Crouch for knocking the ball down to a player that wasn't there is going way too far in the opposite direction to those criticising him in my opinion. I do acknowledge that you're not exactly offering glowing praise of course.

Evenly matched in midfield - they proved they could out battle us.
