Johnson is an impact sub when the game is stretched.

Not aggressive enough to take his fullback on and too technically deficient to compensate.

Appreciate needs must right now with injuries but he ultimately shouldn't be starting games for us in our strongest XI.

All this does is just confirm what we already know and have known for the last few years. Squad is just not good enough, when we are missing our starters the level drops to lower mid table standard.

So much of the dross in our squad needs to be moved on, but they've been here for years
💯 this.

Although that aside it has been a particularly poor performance all round tonight.

It’s crazy how much this squad still needs overhauling.
To be fair, if it was overhauled with Romero, Van de Ven, Bentancur, Maddison, Bissouma, Solomon and Perisic it would look a lot better. We are criminally short at CB, and at least one forward short. But no team is set up to handle a list like that. City lose De Bruyne and Rodri and they look a shadow of the side.

I don’t get why Lo Celso isn’t out there, but otherwise Sarr, Hojbjerg and Kulu is not actually a bad midfield when you’re missing 3 stars and another option. What would (for example) arsenal’s
Midfield look like if you took out Rice, Odegaard and Jorginho, plus a depth option like elneny? That’s the equivalent of Bissouma, Bentancur and Maddison being out plus skipp
