It's good Veliz scored, now he will be a real option coming off the bench, he's got a real good build to lead the line.

Just can't believe we allowed Kyle Kuzma to score 2 penalties.

Shouldn't we loan him out then? What's the purpose of having him on the bench if he's "not ready"?
He’s on the bench because there’s nobody else. Whether he goes on loan or not, the real problem is that we went into the season with only two centre backs Ange was willing to play.

Be interesting to see how many times our centre backs gave the ball away in tonight's game. I am sure there was a point in the game where Emerson gave it away, we recovered it, then Davies gave it away immediately thereafter.

Funnily enough I'm not angry and I wasn't angry during the game, exasperated by some of the basic stuff we weren't doing right but I'm pretty philosophical about it all so when I comment on a player and what I think are their failings that's all I'm doing, I'm not slagging anyone off. I just think we have to be realistic and accept some of them don't cut the mustard for our ambitions now.
That said, ultimately the reason we didn't win today is because we have such important players out, it's not an excuse its just what it is.

Stop shitting the bed guys.

We knew from the first 3 games of the season we have a very good starting 11 with a few good options off the bench. Our squad has been decimated with injuries and suspensions for a long time now and it's clearly shown the back ups in key areas aren't the right fit for the style of football Ange wants to play.

Give him another 2 transfer windows and we will be in a much better situation.

This was always going to be a transitional season and to be where we are now considering all the circumstances Ange has done a fantastic job.

We are disappointed mostly because of our brilliant start and the fact we know how good we can be. But injuries mainly have really hampered our season. Everytime we get a player back we lose another 2.

We can’t play the football we want to play. Without the players that can play that football. Simple as that.

Worth remembering the quality of players we have but weren’t playing today:

Van de Ven
Romero
Maddison
Bentancur
Bissouma

These are all players who were playing to a world class standard (bar Bissouma) before they got injured/suspended. We have a problem when it comes to the front three, but we have so many good players to come back into the team soon.

I wanted Dier to start. But that would have been ridiculously criticised by many too.
Didn’t have to be Dier. Could have been Phillips. Just needed someone to hold his position in the middle and not go walkabout. Emerson was all over the place. Cost us two goals.
