LOL we’re not gonna buy a 60m player to be squad player. We’re not Man City.
if we pay that it is with a view to being in the first 11.
I know everyone gets a hard-on for BF but if you think logically he isn’t getting into the first 11. Especially as Jose seems to love Alli.
Firstly, Pepe is showing signs that he will be a decent player, always takes time for new players from different leagues etc especially coming into a team very off form who have changed managers.Part of me thinks BF is going to be another Pepe, if someone buys him. Feels like a lot of PR punting him around at a price he doesn't necessarily justify.
Just to put things in context, Davinson Sanchez is 23 years old.
We signed Toby aged 26. We signed Jan aged 25. Liverpool signed Van Dijk aged 27.
Defenders tend to peak later because experience is a key factor in their development. Sanchez clearly has flaws with ball control, distribution and sometimes catching the flight of the ball, but his strengths are likely to improve with time and he may improve on his weaknesses too. I think Spurs are probably quite happy with their purchase of him.
Get the feeling this kid is an absolute baller. Will be a pity to miss out on him, but understandable given the enormous asking price. Just a bit outta our range.Part of me thinks BF is going to be another Pepe, if someone buys him. Feels like a lot of PR punting him around at a price he doesn't necessarily justify.
I agree to an extent but BF absolutely is physical. He's not massive like Sissoko, but he gets stuck in like GLC, and has a fabulous workrate. This ship has sailed. Buying Bergwijn suggests a move to a 433 with quick wide forwards and Mourinho has indicated a preference for physical players. GLC and Tanguy will be our creative outlets so I can’t see another creative in this squad

He sort of did, but not in the same way as Fernandes does. What Nani showed back here was that he’d learnt about winning on the big stage. He was always in the right place. His touch and general ability wasn’t a latch on Bruno though.I recall Nani looked decent when he went back to Sporting, so I have my reservations
Jose has pretty much tried to play with pace out wide in a 4231 up until the injuries tbf, I don't believe he's had a set formation at his last few teams alsoThis ship has sailed. Just play Toby and Japhet in defense; they are the only ones doing anything, it seems. New rule that first to 5 goals wins.
My favourite signing ever.
Werent we in for both BF and GLC in the summer? Now that CE has gone - why would that change? I dont know and dont care if we are in for him personally but just asking the question.

He almost scored a stunner in the second half.He sort of did, but not in the same way as Fernandes does. What Nani showed back here was that he’d learnt about winning on the big stage. He was always in the right place. His touch and general ability wasn’t a latch on Bruno though.
It’s half time here, and he’s been fine. Wendel has actually been dominating though, for the first time in about a year.
Personally I'd sell Alli lol. This guy's all round game is far better, and he looks like he can control a football properly rather than slowing the game down every other time he gets it.
Superb post. Not specifically aimed at your good self, more the fact that selling Alli has been mentioned by a few.
Better than a goal or assist every two games in the whole of his premier league career. 23 years old, prem proven.
What the feck is it I'm missing...or is it me.
Fernandes looks good, but feck me, that league is gash. I've watched plenty last couple of seasons, it's gash.
I'll agree that Fernandes has a great range of passing and is industrious, but whilst all are entitled to opinions, and rightly so, I stand by my opinion that Alli has been, and still is a very good player for Spurs.
If we were to sell him, I reckon he'd be easily north of £60 million.
Ask yourself why. ?
Superb post.
Even during this season, where he's been so heavily criticised by our fans, having been injured and in a side that is hardly flowing, he's clocked up 7 goals (our best after Harry) and 3 assists in 16 starts and one off the bench. In fact, aside from last season he's bettered a goal/assist every two matches every single season he's been with us. I just feel that he's being unfairly benchmarked against a superb 16/17 season (where, shock horror, we were at our very best in living memory, topping every metric, finishing second, not losing at home, top scorers in the league, best defensive record, our record PL points total) and his still considerable output is ignored. Last season (injury hit) was a poor one for Dele but it was for basically every player in League terms, the CL run was an anomaly as we have since discovered.
