He's a very good player. I was disappointed when we didn't get him in the summer window. Straight into my FPL team if we do buy him.

I honestly rate GLC better than him tbf.
I agree but they have different profiles. BF is a phenomenal ball striker, an excellent athlete and a goalscorer whereas GLC is more of a hustling progressor and creator. You need both.

We’re just a stalking horse for Utd aren’t we? They’ll pay more, can commit to investing more in the team and are currently looking better than we are.

We can give him a Portuguese coach and London. But otherwise this could be quite tough

I agree with this to an extent but it's not just any old coach; Mourinho is still worshipped in Portugal (and by Duncan Castles...). Reckon he still has a certain lure to him for Portuguese players because of it.

I'd be really surprised if we were to get this Fernandes and Gedson too, especially as that would be two midfielders in without either of them being the type of midfielder we desperately need the most.

There is no chance we are getting him sadly. Our rumoured interest only strengthens Sporting’s negotiating hand and also gives Spurs fans something to hang onto, which suits Levy as it keeps the fans at bay. His record is phenomenal and we will regret this. But it’s a non-starter as circa 20 years of ENIC tells us

Landing Ndombele was a pretty big coup, but you're right in the sense maybe that's wasn't a harbinger of change just yet.

You are right it was a coup but that’s why this makes this deal a non-starter. It won’t happen twice in such quick succession

Totally different players imo. GLC is a number 10. BF is an 8 albeit a slightly more advanced one. Different skill sets too.
Eh, they’re ultimately both the creative player in a team. Not like we’re comparing a LB to a striker. Both would be best as a #10 or the advanced player in a 3.

It’s not like I would complain if he joins, but with limited budget, where does he play? Would rather put the money (with Gedson joining) at a CDM.

8/10 positions: Lo Celso, Lamela, Dele, Ndombele, Gedson (?), Sissoko (to some extent as an 8).

Absolutely this. BF is a solid player but he’s advanced midfielder and we don’t need him. Why we aren’t putting this money towards a DM and some fullbacks I really have no idea.

Having GLC and BF in the same starting 11 could work IMO. If you look at City's line up, both players remind me of a De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva set up and play style.
I really like Bruno Fernandes and would be truly gutted if I see him holding up a United shirt.
He really is a perfect type of player for us and really hope we dont let this one slip through our fingers......I know what to expect though...
