I said last summer and will say it again, Daniel Podence is way better than Gelson. @Hercules said we were aware of him but a deal was difficult / impossible, might be different now as Podence has also given notice of termination. Not going to post a YouTube in this thread but go and look and you will see a young Eden Hazard.

He's so little though. That could be a problem in Pl.

Yep. Think the players have a pretty strong case though. If you are frightened to return and have received abuse previously the courts are unlikely to force you to. They will argue their lives are at risk.
I agree, but think the courts will make the new club pay compensation, or the player to pay at least some of his contract. If. It the. I feel that players will soon be trying this more and clubs losing out of revenue and transfer fees at risk.

Not a lawyer so really couldn't say.

This guy is absolutely class. Wouldn’t be surprised if Pool go for him instead of Fekir, but I want him at Spurs

Salah is also short, gives him his low centre of gravity, add that to explosive pace and it is almost impossible to defend against. I’m not saying he is the finished article but the raw materials are amazing.

I have only seen him a few times but he does look qulity. I have always had massive question marks over Gelson. If he goes on a free there will be a big scramble no doubt, be great to pick up Daniel Podence whilst nobody is looking. Seems the players have until Thursday to sort this out. After a month (from the attack) their appeal for release of contract becomes null and void apparently.

I know nothing about this guy, what type of player is he? Who is he comparable to?

Would we get both him and grealish, sound fairly similar. Haven't watched either.

He’s no uglier than Rose, Trippier, Wanyama, Lamela, Moura or Kane.

No idea what he’s like as a footballer but if he can play central midfield and pass forward incisively I’m all for it.
Respectfully disagree. Kane is the best looking ugly man in the world. His hair is golden silk. His skin glows like the embers of a dying fire. If he wasn't such a mouth breather he'd be a goddamn Greek God.

More talk of Gelson than Bruno Fernandes in the Bruno Fernandes thread...SC at its best. Anyways, I won't pretend to have watched Sporting, but have seen comments from Sporting fans that pretty unanimously refer to Bruno Fernandes as their best player, by some distance. Definitely has me intrigued. Curious to hear onions of those who have seen him play.

Isn't he a number 10? We could really do with another of those, especially if we get Grealish.

What’s going on at Sporting? Apparently a lot of ultras invaded the training ground and assaulted the players. Lots of talk that the players are all leaving on free transfers because of it (club broke contract etc).

If there’s something to be exploited there you can bet Levy will be all over it.
Probably paid the ultras if he found a loophole.

Funny you say that because most fans here in Portugal think that the Sporting president tipped off the hooligans of where exactly in the facilities the players were and told the security to let the 50 hooligans stroll in unchallenged.

He'd been throwing the players under the bus for the weeks building up to it too.

Perhaps it's like Levy's evil evil twin and he negotiates in different ways.
