Ideal scenario for me is this scares Betis into agreeing a fee for Lo Celso, then we have 6 days to either sign Fernandes or tie Eriksen down to a new contract.

Not sure it'll happen, but any 2 from 3 would be brilliant.

Bruno looks very useful but a tad lightweight for the prem. He'll get squashed by someone like Jefferson Lerma and then be out for the season.

Why would we send anyone out there just to make an offer that's then refused? Surely we'd only be sending people when the deal is close and the nitty gritty needs to be ironed out.

I'm picturing the Homer Simpson Gif right now walking in to Moes and straight back out. Haha

So we’re in for Fernandes because we can’t sell Eriksen and ergo won’t sign Lo Celso..? Or is it backwards?

Perhaps that's what we'D like them to think, and have fed that line to kilpatrick
yeah most probably, none of us will truly know and in three weeks time we'll all have forgotten anyway, might as well just take each bit of information, reliable or not, and see what happens (or not)

Lol come on, stop it. How many times do we have to see slightly built players fare perfectly fine and even be successful in the Prem before this archaic school of thought is finally eroded? Christ alive, I cannot believe I’m still reading such tripe in 2019 ?

If we are serious about this deal then it clearly isn't to pressure Betis and shift the balance in our favour because we're not so desperate, however if we do buy him then automatically we won't feel so desperate and it will shift the balance.

I have seen lots of games of BF. I agree that he is not the type of player that orchestrates the teams play from deep; or maybe better, at Sporting that isn't his primary role.

Positive:
* highly competitive
* amazing work-rate
* great stamina
* very mobile
* very good long range shooting
* nice instinct inside the box
* very good defender (pressing, fighting for the ball, positioning, etc ... for an offensive mid)
* very good vision
* very good passing skills
* good at dribbling under pressure

Not so good:
* average heading
* average dribbling
* sometimes he wants to solve things too quickly.

I think he is class. but take it with a grain of salt cause the level of the portuguese league is low :)
