The fact we have sent people out to Lisbon to get it completed as quickly as possible, i dont think for any reason this will not happen! My guess is they already have a seat for Bruno and his agent for a flight back to london!

No way Levy pays the extra for designated seats on Easyjet!

GLC seems like far more of a "Spursy" player to me but in honesty I don't really know what I'm talking about; is Bruno any good?

This article is quoting another article from a Portuguese news outlet, but the story is behind a paywall. They say we had another bid rejected in the meeting this morning - which they attended, apparently. There's a video of Fernandes turning up to the training ground to meet the chairman and his agent allegedly.

Sporting player Bruno Fernandes is getting closer to relocating to England. On the morning of Friday, CMTV exclusively attended the Bruno Fernandes summit in Alcochete.

The CMTV found that the player 's agent met with the president of the Sporting on the onslaught of Tottenham by Bruno Fernandes. It is recalled that Sporting had already rejected two Tottenham bids, one of 45 million euros and another of about 60 million.

Do we know if the 60m bid was a result of today's meeting or was this prior to that? The other Portuguese journalist tweeted less than an hour ago that we've got a meeting planned with them today, so I'm assuming the 60m was a previous bid unless everything has moved and leaked to the press incredibly quickly.

He’s a more similar player to Eriksen than Lo Celso. Yes he is a good player and many that watch sporting think he has what it takes to make the next step up. That being said, the Portuguese league is incredibly weak so there’s some risk to him.

Yeah, i'm not sure. The way I read it initially was that we had met them, hence it had been rejected. In the second paragraph it says "met" rather than due to meet.

But it could easily just be google mis-translating it. Considering the story came out with a video of the cars turning up I think the meeting was due to happen and don't think the media would have had any indication

I read that Bruno isn't concerned about money - he's more interested in the right opportunity.

Good for him.

Fuck that, freeki- we want the gay appraisal

It's like this.

I'd have a go on Bruno if he signed for Spurs just to say I had, same as I would with any of our current squad.

GLC, on the other hand, I'd let stamp on my throat irrespective of whether he signed for us or not.

Hope this clarifies the situation slightly.

Met him a couple of times when he played here in Udine, was put up in a flat where a friend if mine lives.
Nice kid, but didn't exactly set the world on fire on the pitch, although I haven't followed his progress since.
I don't really see them as being very similar, but would prefer GLC, although both would be best .

Could be. But why send delegates to Portugal? Bit of an expensive way to get a deal done. Although I guess you could say if it knocks 20m of the transfer for Lo Celso it works out cheaper.

They are probably hedging their bets. They are still after Lo Celso but with that deal stalling, they are going after Fernandes. Maybe that reignites the Lo Celso deal, maybe it doesn’t. But come deadline day, Spurs will have two options, know the price for each, and decide what to finally do based on that (which could still be buy neither).

Why does each bid require a new meeting? I'd love to be a fly on the wall when these meetings take place.

Because sometimes there are lots of inter-dependent moveable elements.

Eg.,

If the price is X, we'll pay 100% up front. If it's X+ Z, we'll pay over Z months...currency risk on future payments? OK, we cover it, but it'll cost you....

Sell-on percentage you say? Maybe, depends on the price...

Transfer of insurance?... let's see the policy....If we up the price, will you transfer the cover...how much is it worth...?

Share of image rights? What, you'll transfer how much of the rights if we increase the fee? By how much?

Player's salary? Bonus? You already owe him how much...?

Oh just fuck off and tell us how much you'll pay.

You already did? Oh yeah. But we'd like a bit more please.

Why? Because we would. Yes, we shook hands on it, but this is business. What, you don't do business like this? OK, ok, why don't we get together next Tuesday and sort it out?

Wednesday then?

If we do buy this guy I hope either Eriksen is staying or GLC is coming in.

We’ll be losing a lot of our creativity and football intelligence if Eriksen leaves and this guy is not the answer. He looks more of a Alli/Sigurdsson type - has a few flicks and tricks, is great at finding space in the area and can finish but doesn’t have the ability to control our attacking play and knit together attacking moves.

If it’s Fernandes in Eriksen out it will be worrying.

the €60M bid was rejected yesterday as reported by Record and CM. If there is a meeting today I can see this happening.
