A point away to West Ham is not a bad result for them. But they need a few wins or they're down.

Let's hope Westwood isn't as bad as it looked
A point was ok today- but it should have been 3

On the one hand that maybe true, but more importantly on the other they probably won't see it that way after blowing a golden chance with that penalty miss to go 2 up and so they paid the price.

They really needed to be making a dent in Everton's lead over this game and the next 3 as Everton have a tricky run of the fixtures on paper with 2 of the 3 being Liverpool and Chelsea.

You can't be letting points slip when you're in the relegation zone playing catch up.

Something must have happened behind the scenes because it isn't just Dyche and his staff that left, it's apparently all the backroom staff, including the physios and such.
That sounds like a falling out between management and the board to me.

Or an incompetant board blaming everyone but themselves.

Maybe they've got someone else coming in who wants to bring their own backroom team?

Yeah, maybe but it just seems a bit odd to totally clear the decks. I mean apart from maybe Conte, there aren't many managers who bring in their own medical staff, are there?
Even with all our managerial changes, we've always kept some kind of continuity backroom whereas is seems that Burnley have lost pretty much everyone.
Would be interesting to know if they sacked them all, or if some have left due to the Dyche decision.

Done a great job there with a limited budget. Chris Wood and Barnes used to give us a right game back in the day. Decent manager who deserves a second chance

Just listened to Simon Jordan ranting about Chris Wilder (Boro boss) is favourite to go to Burnley. SJ said that Wilder has been to Burnley to watch a game recently and it's all cloak n daggers stuff as Dyche was still in his job at the time. His rant was pretty interesting as he said that Steve Bruce did a similar thing back in the day when he left Palace. (Sorry I dunno how to linky)

What a superb decision this has turned out to be. They didn’t go for some big name like some of their rivals.

The way the team is now performing you have to wonder if Dyche had actually "lost the dressing room" (excuse the cliché), but perhaps he had built such a culture that the team couldn't question his authority.

Everton must be bricking it, but they need something from their games in hand!

Yeah it's a good thought. I imagine his methods had just gotten boring with the players too.

I mean they haven't really had a lot of personnel changes over the years.

Could be that they just got too used to his methods and his voice and it was hard to keep responding to it in the manner you previously did.

He was there a long time afterall and if the style of football you play is not the most inspiring and the objective is simply to stay up, then that is really tough to keep going.

And if, as you say, it was too authorative then you just get trapped in a situation where nothing can change unless the coach goes.
The fact they removed all his staff suggests that too.

Pretty funny to look back 2 pages on this thread. It certainly is a funny old game.

Jackson played 4 and 10 points

Lampard played 11 and 10 points

Ouch ?

I started this thread and I'm totally amazed of the turn around. Something must has been seriously wrong behind the scenes.
I hope they don't go down- I still want Everton to take the fall.
