I agree. The Chelsea result was fabulous but let's be fair, apart from that and a couple of other games the performances haven't been great. I think it's a good result in that respect as it will bring everyone back down to earth, besides our record against burnley away from home isn't great anyway.

I really hope we make some signings to take the burden off Kane up front but I suspect if we do it won't be until 31 January knowing our club.

I think we've been getting better, gradually.

I expected a flat performance tonight after a very busy period and dealing with the high of beating Chelsea.

Lots of people wanted a strong side tonight but I always thought making plenty of changes and including plenty of youth would of given us a fresh impetus, in fact it could of seen a better performance.

Now we've a huge amount of games on the horizon, some players not being rested tonight, like Eriksen who's played a hell of a lot over the festive period, and a number of very experienced players who have been frozen out, rightly by the sounds of it, but we've actually very few options despite what may look like a big squad.

Oh I'm sorry you didn't directly say it, you're just suddenly of the belief that the commentators (and it was piss poor commentary as well) must be right because you felt that they felt he was poor.
Bloody hell, you're from Winnipeg, a lovely city I have visited.

We can go round and round on this. Would you like me to say again that I think that most commentators rarely get things egregiously wrong unless they're getting paid to be deliberately provocative by the kind of outlets whose stock-in-trade is winding up audiences to encourage phone-ins? I also don't rate Soldado. I arrived at those two conclusions independently and many years separate (Soldado opinion being more recent, obviously).

To be honest I'm sure this is boring the fuck out of everyone else in this thread now, so happy to take this to conversation to PM if you'd like to continue.

You're really quite thin-skinned, aren't you? I refer you to A&C's comment about your assertion that you have never made personal remarks about a person. If you honestly thought that I was making a clinical diagnosis of depression and seriously thought that I was suggesting he take Prozac, then I really don't know what to say to you.
I am far from thin skinned. I am easy to deal with-just talk about football.
I just like to allow posters to make their POV without people insulting them. That's all.
I will leave it at that.

I never knew that not rating Roberto Soldado during his time with Tottenham was cause for taking an anti-depressant. Surely that's what you need when you watch Soldado?
Do you know a good surgeon, because I just split my sides laughing at your joke: the italics just pushed me over the edge.
By the way, you might want to tell Prawnsandwich that the last comment does not mean I am suicidal.

I do as it happens, he's just finished working on me after your Prozac gag had a similar effect on my sides. (y)

Probably a fair point, but if we're not discussing slightly wider current Spurs issues in this thread and purely the match itself then for anyone who wasn't at the match tonight that pretty much leaves the replay (and its potential effects etc) as the only point of discussion in this thread, because none of the rest of us saw anything that we can comment on.
Um, you do realise that you just proved Sweech's point, don't you?

Blimey, this won't die in a hurry. Apologies to everyone else. Go on then, how have I proved Sweech's point (which was, from what I can gather, that I've rated Soldado's performance tonight without seeing it rather than using this thread to voice some of my ongoing grumbles with him)? Again, happy to take this to PM if you like.

I hear the new Pope may be looking to give a few sainthoods, so I'll be certain to mention you as your Damascene conversion has been miraculous.

" none of the rest of us saw anything that we can comment on." No, I'd rather not take up your offer.

I'm from Ontario actually, the Jets are just my favourite hockey team, plus if I'm being blunt and honest Winnipeg as a city kinda sucks. It's either ridiculously cold or you're in a cloud of mosquitos.

I think I've managed to visit it in a hiatus between those two phenomena.

Now we certainly have a heavy schedule this month...but these are definitely the teams to play, all very win able games. Tough out this month we could still be on unbeaten run in league, advance to finals in league cup, advance to 5th round in fa. Time to man up, build even more confidence then smash the scum and dippers come February
Its basically 5 home games in a row, so we won't even leave London until the 27th this month...for having a heavy schedule we caught breaks with travelling and playing against ideally lesser teams

This transfer window is crucial

Just back from Burnley. Simply the worst game I have seen for years. Dreadful. Special mention to Paulinho and Soldado for being extra useless and for Kane, Eriksen and Chadli who were the only ones who applauded our amazing travelling support.
