I watched a bit of the Utd/Brummie game before i headed down to the lane, and they looked so ordinary.

That air of invincibility has definately vanished since Ronaldo has left.

Matt Le Tissier predicted Burnley would win tonight Eek. He's still clueless though.

Thankfully we have United early on because they're normally slow starters.

Or they just pay the ref off to pay a fucked up penalty to throw the game:roll:

Get up Burnley though, up the Clarets. What a goal by Robbie Blake too, but Jensen the Beast was the man.

however, this will give manyoo a kick up the arse to get some players, probably mids, before the window closes. same for everton and villa. i'd be much happier if the window closed tonight....

Utd have looked awful in both games so far!

Ronaldo leaving is obviously a major problem, I also wonder how much effect the CL Final may have had on them?

They were simply outclassed by Barca who could easily have won by 5 or 6, I wonder if the psychological effects of that night are hurting them , I hope so!

I agree with both parts. Also VDS, Giggs, Scholes, Neville are all a year older (again) and there are still no replacements ready to step into the high standards they had a couple of seasons ago. Anderson just doesnt seem to be improving, it's a bit early for Rafael who is also picking up his fair share of injuries, Nani is inconsistent, and Foster is unproven still.

Plus they havent got Modric and Palacios so they suck. :)

The Goal of the Month should be good this month already. What a volley from Blake that was. Me thinks they're liking the new ball this season.

Burnley's away form will hold the key to whether they stay up. Their Cup performances last season were excellent.

Goal of the Month Contenders. IMO.

1. rodellega v A Villa
2. Disco v Liverpool
3. Defoe v Hull (the 3rd one)
4. Blake v M Utd
5. Denilson v Everton
6. Drogba v Hull (1st goal)

not a bad selection, and we're only 2 games in!!

Shoe in for goal of the month already I would say. That's going to take some beating.

My brother who is a Utd fan sent me this

United were fucking hopeless last night, I’ve been thinking all through preseason that they don’t have any creativity anymore, and once they conceded last night they never had any ideas how to break through the weakest of defences. This will be a trophy-less season unless Fergie admits he was wrong, and spends big for a playmaker. Fabregas would do nicely. No harm to see a different winner anyway, so long as its not Liverpool obviously

I think he's right. Although they won't get Fabregas.

Let's not forget here that ManYoo have Rio, Vidic and VdS injured. It's like us being without King, Woody and Gomes, only worse because we've actually got better backups!

United will be fine after a few games.

They have gone back to a straight 4-4-2 which is something they haven't really played for a while and players like Valencia and Owen need time to bed in.

They're without Ferdinand and Vidic as well, which means the whole team is suffering from a lack of belief more than anything. Ronaldo has left a hole mainly in their confidence imo, but they will click soon. They're notoriously slow starters.

When Liverpool lost to us there was some insane talk of them not going to be challenging for the title, now i guess it's Utd's turn. History will show they will be right up there at the end of the season. I think if Ancelotti gets the formation right and a player like Drogba stays fit then Chelski may actually win the league this season

Well they are always slow starters. I've tipped Chelsea to win it this year, but i think it'll be close. Valencia will be great for Man U this season though. And Berbatov will be great alongside Rooney.
