Ronaldo Ronaldo Ronaldo, makes me cringe watching and listening to the arse licking that takes place on Match of the Day, CRINGE!

Yes, he's an excellent player, but 'the best in the world'? I very much doubt it.

For me Messi is the best player in the world, a player that can turn games around himself, a player who could play for a poor side like Derby, and who would be able to turn defeats into victories, by himself (as maradona used to do)
would Ronaldo be able to in a team like Derby (or Spurs)? I'd have to say NO.

:stupid:

Ronaldo is the worlds best player. No question. No-one is even close.

Ronaldo is so good that he is not only the best winger ever to play football, I think he can go on to be the greatest player to have ever played the game.

He is that good. Also, his goal to game ratio is the best there has been in the EPL, including Shearer (and Ronaldo is a winger!)

If Ronaldo played for Accrington Stanley they'd win the Premier League, he is that good!

If I could pick any player in the world to play for Spurs it would be him with Messi not even coming close to making me rethink my decision.

Yeah, no offense, but I think that's just jealously talking. He's amazing. 1 goal and 3 assists today...and also Messi plays for Barcelona, which is no scrub team, so to say that Messi could turn a lower side team into a force and Ronaldo can't has no evidence to back it. Ronaldo is currently leading his team to the EPL title. Messi is hurt again and not playing. I love Messi, think he's great, but Ronaldo could be the best player ever when its said and done. We'll see what each wins though by the end of their careers.

If Messi and Ronaldo swapped clubs, and I doubt any Man U fan would want that, then you'd probably be creaming all over Ronaldo. Don't get me wrong, Messi is a great player. Just look at Ronaldo's record, though. I watch almost every Man U game and he is so consistently good it actually makes me sick. He can and does win games virtually on his own. I honestly have never seen such an effective attacking player.

You don't have to like the lad to appreciate his ability. I really think that some people believe that the best players in the world are always in other leagues. A South American plying his trade in Spain isn't necessarily better than a European player earning his wages in Manchester. It just sounds more glamorous. If Ronaldo was to leave Man U I doubt any player in the world could come in and adequately replace him. Certainly no sane Man U fan would be satisfied with a straight swap, Messi for Ronaldo.

Certainly agree that he is the best player around at the moment in the world. Has the potential to be the best ever but, would need to do what he does in the EPL in foreign league before that happened.

True that. Or win something major at international level. If Portugal won this Summer's Euros (not impossible), then that would go a long way to cementing his place as one of the all-time greats of the game.

Ronaldo is much better than Messi, Ronaldo has all the ability Messi does, plus height, strength, a more powerful and accurate shot from distance, the ability to play up front, in CM or on the wings, and he is a free-kick specialist with a trademark free kick.

I must admit to not liking this lad when he first surfaced with Manure. (like everyone else probably) Now, I watch Manure games just to see him play. He is currently in a class of his own and if he had our shirt on his back, I would have his babies. Did I say that.....fcuk.

Ronaldo is clearly better than Messi in every department.

He's not actually a tosser either, he comes across as a very decent chap in his interviews. he's made a few mistakes as a kid, but haven't we all?

I like him a lot, he's inbelivable to watch on a consistent basis, easily the best player to have graced the Premiership now.

Agreed: Best player in the world at the moment.

I've also got nothing against him neither.

There are a lot of jealous people out there (I'm not necessarily referring to this thread) and what a suprise, He has almost everything quality you could want.

Good luck to him i say.

Was going to start a post on C Ronaldo but you beat me to it .

Watching MOTD last night I could hardly believe my eyes ( and it wasn't just the contrast with having been to Crystal Palace vs Blackpool earlier) .

A couple of years ago I thought Rooney was the better player , how wrong could I be .

Oh to have a kick ass midfielder at Spurs again .
