Can we keep the players, the way things are going i think the more pertinent question should be can we keep the coach.

there are many bigger fish than us that might fancy a change in the summer

Yep and if we lose poch we will lose a few players. I'd offer him a new contract in jan if we are doing well.

We dont have one our two good players, we have about 12 or 13 young guys who can all still become top top class.

People go on about the future and stuff but let's just make it now, we are not losing games and a couple of points from the top so let's win titles this season.

sorry but I don't like this assertion that we need more players to "push on", we just need patience, the players are already here. unlike the redknapp team which wasn't built on a sustainable foundation - players at their very peak and ones we couldn't hold on to. or the bale team which was built on one player, this one isn't, it's a team effort built on a collective belief and longevity.

To clarify, I'm not saying we need to overhaul the team, I'm saying in a few key areas, do we need to reinforce a little For example....if Kane gets injured we might be in trouble. If Dyer gets injured, will we be okay?

Having been a Spurs fan for a long time now, there's been a number of times (at least in recent history) where we really were a few players away from challenging, or at the very least pushing on to 3rd or 2nd in the league. That window somewhat shot with City throwing money at their team, but with many of the teams at the top faltering, I really believe we are potentially in a great position to push on and take advantage of others inconsistency.

There's still a long way to go, and it would be great to be confident that we could rotate key players and give them a break here & there.

With the new stadium (best in UK) and nfl deal together with new prem deal we will hopefully be one of the best sides in Europe.

Only a select few (Barca, RM) will be able to feed off us

People need to understand that our revenue will likely increase by 55 million pounds next season with the new television deal, which would place our revenue stream somewhere around 235 million pounds. If we happen to earn Champions League football, our revenue stream would likely surpass Juventus. With 90 million additional pounds in fresh revenue, you have the ability to award players big contracts to stay, and you have the ability to aggressively sign 2-3 difference makers that can help you push on and win the title. We would essentially be in the consolidated position Atletico and Dortmund have found themselves in recently. They can sign very good players who are on the verge of breaking through from the continent (Griezmann, Aubameyang, Reus, etc), which have helped them kick on in their domestic and European campaigns.

On the issue of signings, let me just say that if we followed some people's suggestions here, we wouldn't have signed Alderweireld this past summer. But he was a clear improvement on Dier and he's one of the core reasons we are where we are. So when players come available that fit a profile that we've seen success with recently (CL experience, good domestic league experience, international experience), we should make our move. What we shouldn't be doing is making squad signings with little to no experience who take up squad spaces and actually cost us transfer fees. Njie, Wimmer, and Trippier cost us 20 million pounds and their impact this season will be minimal.

I don't think he'd leave for the likes of City or Chelsea, whom I presume you're referring too. He's building something here, it's taken over a year of slow progress but now we're reaping the rewards. He has players who owe him a lot and play like they know it and a chairman who has previously backed him against powerful senior players. He'd be mad to swap that for the instant success culture at the money clubs.

Money talks at the end of the day

Man city
Chelsea
Real Madrid
Man United- sooner or later

Could all be looking for managers

Would he turn any of them down if they made a great pitch and offered triple money

Obviously you think not, but I think for a manager like Poch the things I mentioned, trust of chairman, belief of players, progress on the pitch and the satisfaction of seeing your philosophy taking root and flourish, do, in fact, count for something in football. Klopp's tenure at Dortmund is a good example of that, hopefully Poch will make a similar commitment to us as long as things continue to benefit both him and us.

I agree with your sentiment but I can also imagine Saints fans saying the same a few seasons ago. Now of course we have more going for us than they did, new stadium, better resources etc but if a Real Madrid comes calling.........

The situation at Saints was different. Poch wasn't happy with the hierarchy there after Corteze (who brought him to the club) left. There was talk about him leaving even before we offered him the job.

Yes that's very true, but things change very quickly in football. I actually think this is our best chance in a long while to keep hold of our team and progress.

But then I was also certain Sol would sign a new deal, convinced that Luka would stay and 110% positive that Gareth would give us another year (I lost 100 quid to my mate on that one )

I hope that this is different, but I'm not going to kid myself that there is any loyalty left in football.

Time will tell but those euros from the big boys will be hard to resist and if we carry on the way we are those offers will come. What happens if we finish 5th and Daniel says sorry Poch we can't invest in the squad all the cash is set for the stadium? Or sorry Poch but we can't say no to the offers for Lloris and Kane?

I pray it does not happen but once bitten and all that

Seems like we have a really good team spirit with no big egos to cope with. They look like a bunch who will stick together and back each other, so I see no reason why any of them would want out. We do need a bit of rotation to keep the competition for places lively, but the future looks pretty bright to me.
Completely agree.

Right now there aren't too many more attractive options in the PL with our young squad of players who have the right attitude and are bought into this project together why would they leave.

If we come below top4 again Lloris may look at his situation but I'm still not sure he'd leave.
Kane won't be going anywhere, Jan is loving life with his boy Toby back there with him now, so yea really can't see who would want to leave to be honest.

Potch is probably the biggest worry if he keeps doing well will Real Madrid or Barca coming running?

Anyway why think negatively, right now I can't see any of our key figures leaving anytime soon.

We have a few things in our favour this time compared to when we lost Bale, Modric, Berba, etc.

1) Age - Most of our best players are 25 or younger and will be less itching to move on ASAP.
2) Talent - There's a more even spread of talent and no single player stands out in the way that Bale did.
3) Spirit - There seems to be a stronger team spirit and togetherness than I've seen in any other recent Spurs team. The players seem to really respect and respond to Poch and I think some might want to see how far he can take us.
4) Money - The new TV deal will make it harder for teams to buy us out.

Come the summer United will undoubtedly be all over Kane again and, of course, money talks, but even if we don't get top 4 I think we'll lose 1 big name player at most (Lloris?).

For me it comes down to wages. If players are offered double, or triple the wages it'd be very hard to turn down. Rather than bring in any "big name" signings I'd prefer we re-invest that 20, 30 or 40 million quid back into the wage bill and keep this squad together. I think special things could be just around the corner ....

Something that I have been thinking about for a few months now is, what if he is wanted by Argentina to coach the national team? While he might not be tempted by other clubs, I think he would leave to manage his country. This may then lead to players probably wanting to leave as well. A nightmare scenario, one I hope we do not have to experience
