Carlos Vela , front of Real Sociedad in the interest of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur . The two Premier League clubs have already contacted the Mexican striker's agent to present a pre-contract proposal and a sports what they plan for next season. The British press echoed the news without having possible figures, just the interest of the Reds and Spurs in the Aztec.
Carlos Vela continues to grow as a player year after year and has already become one of the most sought after strikers in La Liga. The Royal Society will continue next summer with his intention not to pass it since it is a key to the project along with Antoine Griezmann. Vela, meanwhile, has made statements to this effect and still thinking about the intention of get back to the Royal Society in the top four finishers. Vela wants to play Champions League.

I believe he's also Gio's bestie, to the point where they used to live together in London!

He's moving into Buckingham Palace apparently...

Fair play to the lad he really has stepped up over the last couple of seasons, probably the year before last, though he had a decent enough tally he was missing a lot and he scored more on the back of a team creating a lot of chances, but he has matured and developed into a pretty decent player who creates as well as scores

We should do a double deal though, I think Griezmann has helped his development as a player and he might not look quite so bright without him and of course given a choice I'd rather have Griezmann anyway.

Come to that lets do a triple deal and add Inigo Martinez and solve another problem

Personally I'd be happy if even Spurs "only" got 2 of them, i.e. Griezmann and Martinez.
Regarding Vela, he's - like Gio - developed into a really good player. But, like Gio, I have a feeling he's "made" for life in La Liga.

Yeah I'd agree with that and I imagine after struggling at Scum he's happy to be in La Liga, playing regularly, playing well and enjoying it

Agreed. Would prefer we avoid strikers from La Liga and Serie A for a bit, and closely evaluate attacking midfiders/wingers to see if they actually would work here and fit our needs. This is something I believe the Broomfield hire is specifically intended to do.

Not to mention that I'm sure Vela had some choice words about us a few years back, saying that we weren't good enough for Gio. Lol. Hard fit this one, can't see it.

I'm pretty sure Arsenal have a sell-on or buy-back clause with this guy, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if they utilised it in the Summer. Would be a sensible move for them to be honest.

L'equipe (reliable) has stated that Griezmann has agreed terms with PSG to join them this summer. That may mean that Lavezzi is leaving.

They have been linked a lot with him this season however-

Through his Twitter profile, Real Sociedad forward Antoine Griezmann has declared: "I want to make clear that, despite the rumours regarding a contract with PSG, I have not been contacted and I haven't made any decision"

I can still see him going there but a month or two back he was saying he wanted to stay in La Liga, he was hoping Real Madrid would be interested but good as he is it's difficult to see them needing him

The train has gone on Greizmann then (as it did on Eden Hazard). Many on this board - me included (just to put the records staright :finger:) - have been going on for like 2-3 seasons about him and that Spurs should go for him (albeit, in Bale there was already a player similar to his style at the club).
It seem to me however that Griezmann is a player who rather than rush to the club that offered him the most money instead decided to stay put where he was playing and develop in "peace" there and make the move when he feel his game is ready for the next step up.
As for PSG, they seem to be keen on building a squad with a French/French speaking core, and buy up the best on the market, so I won't be surprised if PSG goes for Griezmann, Pogba and Lloris (and even Romelu Lukaku) this summer (unfortuntely I don't think they'll be able to "steal" Eden Hazard from Chelski).

Yeah despite the late night antics that got him suspended from the French under 21's for a while, he seems both very level headed and more career focused rather than money focused. He also seems to have been pretty loyal to Sociedad.
He clearly has ambitions but in my opinion the way he has developed over the last three years developing his game in a league and a club he is familiar with has paid off.
In many ways he has been similar to Hazard (and I would also say Eriksen) in that, despite the offers, develop your game and then make a move

Shame that he has now reached a stage where he is a target beyond us, or maybe that should be shame that we haven't reached a stage where we could compete because I still think he'll be looking to play regularly rather than be part of too much rotation in a team full of big names
