From the BBC's gossip page:

"Redknapp is also considering an audacious move to bring midfielder Michael Carrick back to White Hart Lane from Manchester United."

Do you thing this would be good for the team? He didn't leave on bad terms and is a quality player but would it end up like the Robbie Keane situation?

I dont believe spurs should set the habit of re-signing players, IMO it would be a step back. Also the club should set an example to say if you want to leave us for pastures green dont expect to come back when things arent all you hoped it would be !

Better than Jenas, Wilson, O'Hara.

Would love him back as he was a quality player for us, I still think he could do it for us, he needs a string of first team football.

I remember he used to clear the ball from corners all the time =) Loved Carrick:cry:

As an alternative to Parker or in addition to it? We dont have room for 2 new central midfielders. Its questionable if we have room for just 1 atm. I would take him ahead of Parker out of the 2 just because he suits our style better. We need to keep the ball better in the absence of Huddlestone. If he's cheap enough i'd be happy to bring him back.

If resigning a player means upgrading then I have no problem in theory. Carrick is a better version of Huddlestone, so I wouldn't be bothered if we brought him back, especially if we could part-ex Hudd.

I like Carrick and still think he could become an imporant player for a team if played regularly.

I certainly wouldn't say no, I just don't think he's what our midfield is missing.

I'd have him over Parker in an instant but do we really need another CM or is Harry buying all his old buddies again

If anything I'd say Michael Carrick is now a downgrade on Huddlestone. It would be nice to have two deep sitting ball players in the squad, but I think Carrick would be a bit of a pricey squad player.

Wouldn't be unhappy if it happened though.

Not the player he was, after his bright start at ManUre every fan of theirs I know can't wait to get shot of him.

We discussed this on air last night, the consensus being that Carrick's the nearest thing England has to Xavi. But that international football isn't kind to him. Woefully underrated at United, I'd be thrilled if he returned to us. But we have a 'tempo setter' in Modric. I'm not sure the pair would work well together.

Harry would revive him though, he's only 29.

Huddlestone's only 23, pretty much at the same level and improving all the time. Bringing Carrick in would only serve to break up our rhythm and stop Huddlestone improving, as Hudd's the sort of player that needs to play every game and set the rhythm of the team.

I think the majority on here would disagree with you BC but even if you were right have you considered that Huddlestone is nearly 24 whereas Carrick is 30 (yes 30) in July.....

I would take him on loan as a stop-gap if we were able to do it right now but the earliest we could do it would be Jan 1. He will be relatively rusty and Hudd will be back early Feb so I see little point unless it becomes obvious through December that our back up CMs - Jenas, Palacios, Kranky - can't cope

Certainly wouldn't be dissappointed but not at the expense of Huddlestone - no way. Not that I think Harry would be thinking about that for one second.

Hudd has a big future at the Lane.
