Okay, here's what I think with regard to this post.

Berbs prob wants out, not publically, but privately I'm sure this is the case as he wants champs league. Spurs wanted to sell abroad but Barca lost interest when Pep became manager, Real have there eyes set on Ronaldo, Munich have good strikers so much so Podolski sits out. Inter are pretty set up front, Juve never showed interest, AC would prefer Adebayor or Ronnie whilst Drogba's more of a possibility for both Milan clubs. So then theres only United in England showing any serious interest of meeting the valuation we have set.

It sucks to sell him to an english club, and United can't be seen to take our best players. Remember when Fergie dug his heels in and said Heinze couldn't leave to Liverpool.

Maybe spurs should enforce the 'slavery' clause and tell him he has a signed contract- end game.

But then I reckon after his first season he was probably given assurances to stay on the condition that he would be sold should we not make the top 4. Then it's tricky, ideally Barca would bit £25 mil and it would be thank you's all round.

Still, if United get Berbs then there previous target Huntelaar is suddenly available.

One of the only things that will make this better is seeing Ronaldo leave and the united fans moan that there better without him. HAHAHAHA, 42 goals- 23 year old, gone to a 'bigger' club. How do you like them apples?

first post in a while, but i thought i'd join in the great berba debate....

personally, i think everyone's over-reacting.

of course, i would rather he stay but would not be heart-broken if he leaves - especially for the money that's being touted.

berba is a great player because he doesn't just deliver goals but he also delivers assists and creativity too.

the beauty of our summer signings so far is that, in modric and dos santos (not to mention the possibility of bently), we have bought creativity in spades. i personally feel that an out-and-out striker (i personally feel that there is more to come from bent - he struggled last season through lack of games and, when he did get a start, lack of confidence) would deliver just as many goals as berba.

also, the cash from the transfer will also enable us to focus on a quality DM.

just my 2 cents

i understand he wants CL football, but he should understand why we don't want him to leave for Man Utd.

It's not easy to sell them finished article every time, they won EPL time twice and CL which helped them to make profits from their deal with us about Carrick. I can say £27m not good enough to sell him for them.

if he want to leave, he can go abroad.

How true. Who's laughing now about the Carrick deal ? In fact if Manure want Berbatov so much the price should be Carrick plus 18m. Or no deal. Let them buy Addab - eeore instead.

Unfortunately everyone is a feeder club except for Real Madrid, AC Milan ad Man Utd who have never sold players they didn't want to sell. Even Barcelona couldn't hang on to Figo joining Madrid

We are all part of the food chain with Real, AC and Utd as the prediters and the rest, including us are ALL prey. The only way we can possible stop Man Utd buying our best players is if w are competing with thm on all fronts. Unfortunatly that will take at least 3 or 4 years. In the meantime we need to gamble on the likes of modric, bale. hutton, santos who are not the finished products. If we don't close the gap on United they will keep on taking our best players.

There is absolutely nothing we can do except take as much as we can from them and invest on other promising players.

Prior to all this crap I was thinking if we win another cup and finish 5th it would be a good season. However it wont. WE DESPERATELY NEED CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOOTBALL
