He wouldn't just goal hang though, he would drop and get involved, as is his habit, and allow soldado, lamela and kane to have their fair share of the penalty spot.

Yup, that's who I'd play behind him.

So basically you want him as a false number 9?

To hell with formations, man! :p

Get ball wide, put in a cross, get some men in the box, goal gets scored.

Or you could piss around with the ball in the middle third all game and go absolutely nowhere...
I didn't watch the match today but that sounds like AVB style footy

AVBball was more organised possession, played in a pretty rigid shape. Today I just saw a shapeless mess and people not really sure of what they were supposed to be doing and also how they were meant to dovetail with those around them.

Watch the two spurs players who are inside the 6 yard box when Chadli makes contact. Both should be making a movement towards any potentially mis-hit shot or disguised cross.. Both just put their hands in front of their faces to protect themselves.
Not a huge deal in itself, but it sums up the kind of Sunday league moments that our game is riddled with. Great finish Chadli.

What seems to be happening is we look OK until the oppo score and then we go to shite.

Silly errors leading to oppos goals as well. Today Naughton had a mareos. I know, I know - and I said it myself - he doesn't have much support form the Arw, but his supposed press and overrun that allowed that Banjo in (or whatever his name is) was unforgivable.

Actually there are many of our players that do that and it's a sign of a lack of confidence, believe it or not.

Good goal granted but I didn't appreciate the way he wheeled away as if he had saved/won the game for the team/club. It displayed a selfishness and unawareness of the situation we were in.

Sums up the kind of players we have at the moment.

Really? THAT'S what you interpreted from that? Wow.

I actually thought we might go on and win it, such was the calibre of the goal, especially with Lamela coming so close to scoring too. Such a shame we were so dire. Well done Nacer for a sensational strike, gutted for all that your brilliant strike didn't go on to claim some points for us.

Yeah, we need players to show less emotion.

It was a selfish celebration,

From games and players past where we had been in a similar situation they would celebrate yes, maybe get the ball from the goal, maybe run back to the halfway line with a rallying call kind of vibe.

Maybe I'm weird but as I watched it on the stream that was the thought that came to my head, he was seeking adulation.

Who gives a shit ? The guy has scored 6 of our 14 goals in the prem. He is right now the only one of our 13 players signed in the past 2 seasons that is justifying the money we paid and he was one of the ones carrying the least expectations. As far as I am concerned he should be one of the only 3 players whose name should be on the team sheet as a no brainer, along with Hugo and Verts.
The only question is should he play up front in a 2, as a goalscoring wide player or as a number 10.
You know what ? I couldn't care less if he is celebrating for himself or the team. He is surrounded by mediocrity and still doing his job.

Are we really criticizing his celebration? I thought it was a well needed boost of energy the way he was passionate about it and really got the crowd into it. The same people complaining about Chadli's celebration are the ones that will complain about no one showing passion or desire. Just negative.

It was a great goal too, to be fair.

I was angry when I see him shaping up to shoot, I didn't think he had a hope in hell of scoring from that angle, lovely volley. The one against Villa was excellently controlled too. I like how the media don't talk about him much but he's quietly banging them in.
