What a joke of a decision. We are the only country that has this stupid rule. Even the World Doping Agency has said that the by law is wrong. There goes any chance we have got getting a medal in the 200m relay.

Chambers should be allowed to run in the Olympics. He served his ban and unlike a lot of drug cheats admitted he was wrong and helped authorities.

With organisations like the BOA in charge London 2012 is going to be a complete joke where the UK gets shown for what it really is - a second rate sporting nation.

So if someone murders someone, but helps with enquiries, they should be let off?

Bit more extreme i know but same principles apply.

No the same principles do not apply. The only time people are to be restricted in what work they do once they serve their time is serious crimes like murder, abuse, rape, etc.

Although the judge found in favour of the BOA even he has said that there are serious questions over the legality of the bye law. The BOA has rules that are more restrictive than the IOC's.

The whole 'Dwain at the Olympics would not be moral as he is a drug cheat' is complete bollocks. Half of the athletes in the Olympics this year will be on something. Seven out of the eight runners in the 1988 100m have failed drug tests.

If morals is so important then why is Christine Ohuruogu in the GB team? She missed three drugs tests. I know that isn't as important as a failed test but how do we know she isn't a drugs cheat? Afterall if you've got nothing to hide then you would turn up for the tests.

For once can't the UK just get off its high horse? There will be other athletes in China that have tested positive in the past. Why should we stick to rules of fair play that no one else does? As far as the IOC is concerned Chambers can compete for the UK.

The head of the IOC has said that there is unjustifiable discrepancies between British athletics and other sports in regards to the treatment of sportsman who fail tests. Edgar Davids and Stam served a four months ban for failed tests yet were still allowed to represent their country. Chambers served a ban that was six times longer.

Also, why should there be an additional punishment specifically for the Olympics? Why is he allowed to compete in the World Championships, European Championships and the Commonwealth Games but not the Olympics?

If having a former drug taker in the GB team will effect morale then why is Linford Christie still a UK Athletics coach? If Chambers competing in the Olympics is sending out the wrong message to youngsters then why are we are letting these youngsters be coached by a drug's cheat?

That is absolutely one of hte most ridiculous statements I have ever seen.

Comparing a murder to someone who has taking a performance enhancing drug, as you said though completely extreme.

Although if you assist in the enquiry of a murder, you may get a lesser sentence, although you need to understand the law between murder and manslaughter (huge difference really).

Now, if you compare what Chambers has done to a normal criminal, lets say someone who robbed a house.
He went to prison for a couple of years, gets let out... he has a rehabilitation plan working for him, social workers, help with employment - basically the criminal who robbed someones house gets a second chance, even a third, fourth and fifth chance.

Herion addicts get the chances.

Why can't someone who has taken a drug that you can get on prescription, be given a second chance?

Put it in context please, what he done was wrong, but hardly ruined other peoples lives like 'real' criminals do.

We have a chance to use Chambers as someone who has done wrong, but turned the corner, they should lift the ban on a condition that he works with the younger athletes to direct them (too late now of course).
