Didn't seem to be a generic thread for this season's Champion's League so..

Come on Madrid!

Lol, AVB's Zenit have been done by Leverkusen good n' proper over these last 2 games. An actual revolutionary manager showing them how it should be done. AVB looks less and less the maverick each time I see one of his sides.

And I'm not even anti-AVB

I saw the first half, Kerzakhtov is so crap and missed 2 clear cut chances.
AVB has his hands tied, He's not in charge of transfers at Zenit and has been left with a poor squad.

I hope Zenit slip into the Europa and we draw Zenit so we can give Andre a proper reception at the lane.

That old chestnut

He clearly signed the players he wanted to in Garcia and Garay. They have more money than the rest of the league.

Yes hence why Zenit are running away with the league title, Garcia was signed for £13 million and Garay for £12 million which is only a spend of £25 million.

Can AVB turn Zenit into CL contenders with that spend? No... No manager in world football could do that.

I'm amazed Zenit are even competition in the CL and credit goes to AVB for that.

I can see Real Madrid being ruthless, Ronaldo wont dip his performance after seeing a shit team, he will step it up and go for the records

This could be a similar score to the Schalke game last season

Garay was closer to £20m and they should be able to get out of a easy group

The South Korean, Son, of Leverkusen scored two lovely goals. Looks a very good good player
He really is - I had hoped we'd sign him before they snapped him up though I thought we had little chances expecting a bigger fish to do so

Zenit have a group they should really qualify from with all the riches of their squad at their disposal and they're making very hard work of it dropping more home points - If Monaco hold their nerve today AVB's men will be 8 points adrift of the qualification places and a potential Europa return to the Lane could be in store

come on madrid, double figures please, put those mugs to the sword. utterly chickenshit selection from rodgers, the only way it won't look cowardly is if they somehow manage to get something.

How is credit given to AVB for Zenit being a team in the CL group stages most likely dropping into the Europa? Were Zenit not a CL level team making it to the group stages regularly before he got there anyway?

Its no more amazing than Celtic huffing and puffing to get out of their CL groups as and when they make it there in my opinion

Toure, Allen, Borini, Lucas. This is gonna be absolutely hilarious. Manquillo and Moreno have both got mistakes in them too.

But seriously, no need to bring up that game last year..

Monaco won't win at Benfica... It's still in Zenit and AVB's capable hands.

It's better for Zenit to drop down to the Europa League anyway imo rather than just getting knocked out next round

What a pathetic team by Rodgers, man's a bitch. Play strongest team especially in CL and with fans travelling so far to watch

Unbelievable team news from Liverpool, god knows what their fans are thinking. What happens if Chelsea stuff them too at the weekend. Brendon gonna be under serious pressure.

Nailed on we draw Zenit in the later stages. Would relish that.
Shatov replaced by Arshavin in that game.
