No I don’t think we will be anywhere near this at the end of the season. Plus maybe this is technically for the general football thread (apologies admin if this is deemed that).

BUT……

Can anyone explain why, in the scenario that Chelsea finish outside the top 4 but win the Champions League, that the team finishing in 4th gets to stay in it? I remember UEFA bringing in that rule after Everton finished 4th and Liverpool won the Champions League and they seemed adamant that only 4 teams would qualify from England after this and changed the rule. This happened to us when Chelsea won it and took our place (when we finished 4th).

I’ve just read that if say Liverpool finished 4th at the expense of Chelsea and Chelsea won the Champions League all 5 would qualify. Firstly is that right and secondly when did that change?

They seem to bring in these rules to fuck us over and help others!

They changed it the year after it messed us over. It is capped at 5 though, so if Arsenal (please no) win the Europa League and Chelsea win the CL, with both missing the top four, then the fourth placed team in the league will miss out.

I don't think we have to worry about Arsenal winning the Europa League this year (y)

So they bought it in and the only team it ever affected was Spurs!? How very spursy.
