I agree in general with you AngerManagement, but not in this special case.
The Allianz Arena and the St. Jakob-Park are both designed by the same Basel-based architects. The ptich heating and other technologies are mostly identical. Basel and Munich are not that far away from each other so they have about the same climate and had the same weather conditions the last days. Both stadiums are UEFA Elite Stadiums, basel only having one star less because of the capacity. So I doubt that the pitch is less looked after than in Munich. Im pretty sure Bayern had far worse pitches the last weeks travelling up north in Germany and that the pitch in Basel comes as closest to their own as possible. Basel beat Bayern yesterday because of their will and ambition, the whole team fought as a unit.
Basel wont save expenses on their pitch. They dont save expenses on anything apart from transfers as they try to mostly build up their own youngsters (Shaqiri, Stocker, Xhaka, Fabian Frei, Alex Frei, Streller, Huggel, Sommer all from the basel youth yesterday, Rakitic, Derdiyok, Kuzmanovic and some others all came from Basel)
And from you posts I read it as if youre saying Basel plays shit anti-football, which is simply not true. Im a ST Holder and they play really nice football, so the pitch was as much an issue for them as it was for bayern, if it was at all.
I dont think we can hold on to that result over 2 legs, but that wont have anything to do with the pitches but simply down to bayern giving their all in the second leg, which they didnt yesterday. So all in all in this special game the pitch is IMO just an excuse, althought maybe I just have my Basel-tinted glasses on
