It's against a foreign team hence why the commentators chuckle as if he is some kind of cheeky little scamp instead of a total cheat! Funny to hear Townsend and co talk about "being clever"! No, it's cheating and if it took place in a league game you would be crying foul play!

I think it's good they are through. Extra games, pick up knocks etc. They have no chance at all of winning the thing. Napoli? Ten man Stoke were better! Their defence was very poor

He wears 88. 8th letter is "H" abd 88=HH for Heil Hitler. This is well know far right usage. There was a massive backlash against the Italian keeper for using it. And its always noticeable when a player does wear it.

So that's why I asked. However, Inler just seems stupid rather than being openly far right.

Yeah, I know what it is sometimes used to symbolise. Isn't just a bit presumptuous to suggest far right leanings purely because he wears it?

Does that mean Eric Lindros was a Nazi as well? Or this guy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_Bruce ? Or any of the no doubt many other professional sportsmen who have worn it before?

Not so sure. As long as we can pick up our pace again then we're still ahead of them, and i'd never pass off the chance to tangle the woolwich and bin dippers up in a wreckage for 4th. Anything that keeps the attention off of us and puts pressure on those behind us is gravy

We play them in between them going to Shitty and the first leg of the quarter final. Could be beneficial. Hope they get Barca. Or Madrid. And they get torn apart.

Lindros is a north American and thus fairly unaware of what 88 symbolizes in Europe.

My presumptions was to ask. Not to state. And then research it and state his reason. It has been an issue in Italy. I thought it might have been something he was know for there.

So I am sorry if you are offended by my asking the question.

But once again, after I asked I did look into it, mate

It's true, but i can't be angry about it. It was, as someone said earlier in the thread, comedy gold. He even stared at the camera, ticked all the boxes that define hilarious for me

 if it was anyone other than Chelsea I could have laughed. I hate them so much.

Barca would suffocate them and kill them slowly, Real would just flat out blitz them.

The reason Inler wears 88 is because his favorite number is 8, couldn't get the shirt at at Udinese so went for 88. Same at Napoli.

I wouldn't necessarily say anyone outside of Europe would be unaware of it. To the same extent that if it was such a prevalent issue then clubs would consider not allowing players to wear it.

I'm not offended by it, just slightly baffled by the ease with which you seemed to consider the accusation against Inler which, as your research discovered, is most likely down to something as childlike as his favourite number.

Its great that they've gone through! Then they can hope that they can win it, when in reality they have no chance.

The last three letters of Inler and Hitler's names are the same. The evidence stacks up.

Good result for us this. They played extra-time. Plus they have 2 more fixtures in their fixture list.

Enjoyed supporting them and it was a great match (As an Englishman).. But I still think their defence is dodgy, Terry was awesome in defence, but without him they defence is very shaky. We can score against them for sure..

If they win it CL place goes to them even if they finish 5th. Disaster unless Arse finish 4th.

More chance of me suddenly becoming attractive to every women in the world than Chelsea winning the CL so no worries there.

I wonder why the BBC coverage is just gushing praise and doesn't once mention any of the diving that went on, whatsoever, let alone Drogba's auditions for the olympic peek-a-boo squad?

Who was it had the Bale is a diver article? I wonder if they'll have any interest in the way both teams went about it last night?

You know what, I enjoyed that game and I'm glad Chelsea won.

Considering I didn't care who won, I found myself cheering when chelsea did score, a great game, fuck loads of passion, some shit defending, cracking dives, filthy play, a dumb ass ref.

The game had it all.

Plus Terry went off injured ;-)

Well done Chelsea to be honest, that was some performance.

I would love them to get Bayern, Barca or Real - they would get such a pasting it'd have to be on after the watershed. They'll probably get Apoel though - who I've been really impressed with - would love them to somehow win it.

I wanted to them go through as more matches mean a bigger burden but how the fuck anyone can actually cheer for them is beyond me.
