I'm sure that someone must have started a thread before but I couldn't find one.

Does anyone keep an eye on the championship/football league? It's extremely competitive at the top of the championship with the prospect of a great match on the cards tonight between Bournemouth and Derby County. Bournemouth have been a real surprise package this season (I know that they have had significant backing from the owner, Maxim Demin but the club seems to be run extremely well and Eddie Howe is doing a brilliant job there). Derby and Middlesbrough have also been doing brilliantly and it doesn't look like any of the 3 teams are going to be able to afford drop many (or any points) between now and the end of the season.

Do any of you want to see a particular club promoted? I'll be honest, I'd love to see Bournemouth go up even though they are by no means a Premier League club in terms of support or stadium as it is a real rags to riches tale.

Having just moved there I've got one eye on Watford. Would be nice having a Premier League team within walking distance.

I have got a soft spot for Watford. They really are doing well this season. I fancy them to get one of the play off places.

Shame about the sending off in the first minute against Bournemouth but generally they're doing well.

I must admit that I visited their website to see their take on the game and in the main they were philosophical about it.

Five years ago Fulham beat Juventus 4-1 in the Europa League. Tonight they lost 5-1 to Bournemouth. conceded five goals for the fifth time this season and currently sit 20th in the Championship.

It's amazing and sad how much they have fallen. Can't help but wonder if they would have been better off if they kept Rene Meulensteen.

The championship has been amazing this season

For a change there isn't about 13 teams fighting for promotion instead there is about 7 teams that are all in a shout to win the title

The top 4 separated by one point and then ipswich all the way in 7th are 6 points from the top

If I had access to it here in America I would support a team (Brentford this year) and watch it. It seems very exciting and last year's final day drama was a great YouTube watch.

There goes the neighbourhood! I grew up just down the road from the Orns and have been to Vicarage Road loads as a lot of my mates support them. Would be great to see them back in the Premier League. I am also hoping Barnet make it back into the league. It is nice seeing them on the Football League show.

Location means I also keep an eye on the Watford results. The Pozzo ownership has worked wonders although how it works out when they get promoted(which I think they will) i'm not so sure.

I don't think there is a better league in world football in terms of competitiveness, any one of eight teams could go up automatically. It's been like that for years but to see four teams level at the top is crazy!
Having been born in Watford and lived there for 25 years I'd love to see them go up this year, 72 goals in 36 games is amazing, even if they go straight back down they'll get £100m!!!

Derby should of won, gutted they didn't but hey ho

Everytime we go top its like they take the pedal of the gas and let everyone catch up

They are in desperate need of a striker with both bent and martins out with injury and no strong player to hold the ball up

I was thinking along similar lines when I saw that Portsmouth drew 1-1 with Accrington yesterday. Incredible to think that a few seasons ago they had a very decent team and obviously won the FA cup and are now drawing with Accrington Stanley!

Unbelievable. From a selfish point of view I was pleased as it left Bournemouth top but I still can't see past Derby getting automatic promotion.

Im jealous of Watford's goal scoring, particularly from their strikers. They have a 17 goal striker, a 16 goal striker and an 11 goal striker. Really quite amazing to potentially have 2 20 goal players.

5 points separate the top 7 right now, and 1 point separate the top 5. Amazingly close. Quite sad to see how far Fulham have fallen. Out of the 6 teams relegated to the championship over the past 2 years, QPR was promoted, and soon to go back down, Wigan will probably be in league 1 next year, Norwich might come back up, and Fulham, Cardiff and Reading are floundering. Sad, really.

Portsmouth is all the way down in league 2 also.

The Championship is the best second tier league in the world. The competition is u real with so many teams in with a chance of going up.

Interesting little factoid mentioned during the Middlesboro - Ipswich game. Apparently at 13 years a piece these two teams are the longest runs in the Championship.

Middlesborough were in the premier league in 2009 so they aren't on the longest run in the championship
