I hear ya, but I like Kane in the #10 with his workrate causing turnovers. I know we agree Kane and Eriksen are in the starting 11 for sure (y)

Kane can still do that as a false or even a true No 9, we'd just need more pace on the flanks then to stretch back out the opposition after he does drop in and win possession.

He's a poor footballer. Good poacher, but we need more than that. There's a reason why he's started scoring when playing up top with Zamora. He doesn't offer much else in his all round game. He's a technically limited box player. Eriksen would I think feel slightly insulted if asked to line up behind Charlie Austin. They'd also ask for something fucking stupid like £20 million given his form at the moment. Pass.

Dembele is the only o e we should going for, he's sheer class and a beast.

Been saying it ever since he went to Villa and when a big club signs him we will regret it.

I just finished watching the Rs vs WBA. I have watched a lot of their games this season. Austin would go well and could play lone forward or behind Kane in games where we needed more goal scoring clout. He is a strong personality with a high work rate. Anything around £12 million to £15 million would be well worth it.

Take Siggurdson for example. Success in the Prem with smaller sides does not always translate to each and every system in the same league, and especially among the bigger clubs with the way they're defended against.

I've watched Austin and to me he's a limited footballer, Harry Kane is a far better player IMO. I'd much rather we went for Benteke Bony Berhinho or other.

if any of the names thrown out around here that SS57 likens to "Bentinho" then Berahino fits the bill...

Christian Benteke: Has scored or assisted a goal in 3 of his last 4 appearances for Aston Villa #avfc
What annoys me about Benteke is he is exactly the type of player we should have and I believe would have signed back when Commolli was in charge of transfers

It really annoys me that Villa signed him and we didn't show interest (as far as I know as I believe he'd have chosen us above Villa)

I had already seen him play for Belgium and score twice verse Holland so it wasn't like he was a completely unknown entity - I am far from an expert on football let alone lower European league footballers of African origin (I am no Spursking I admit) but even I thought we should be signing him and I wasn't pleased with the people in charge of our transfers when he instead signed for Villa

In hindsight we clearly made an error paying £26m for Soldado instead of him too - although perhaps had we signed Benteke then it may have blocked Harry Kane's path to the first team so maybe things were meant to be. Personally though I'd happily shift either or both of Ade and Soldado in Jan and bring in Benteke to play with or rotate with Kane (but I can't see it happening now)

Yes I meant Benteke in my post above.

My phone decided to change it to dembele instead for some reason, probably because I type that name more often.

Benteke is getting over his injuries and can score with either foot, is great in the air, fairly quick, powerful, has a great eye for a pass and to me, there is no weakness in his game.

I really think he's the closest to a younger Drogba I've seen and we should snap him up.

Kane could be our Sheringham and Austin our Klinsmann, neither are on the same level to those 2 yet but they would work well together IMHO

Stone Cold Charlie Austin and Kane. Sounds like a decent partnership.

Benteke all day long. Prefer him to Bony to, let alone Austin - would rather sign no one than Austin.
