Don´t know if this warrants it´s own thread, but here goes:
The_Shepherd01‏@The_Shepherd01
#Spurs have sent scouts to watch Charlie Austin 13 times this season. #THFC #Tottenham #Burnley #Clarets
Charlie Austin, born 05.07.89.
Transfermarkt eval. 3,000,000 £

Current season
Championship: 37 games, 24 goals, fpur assists. Total 3174 minutes
League Cup: 3 games, 3 goals, no assists. Total 233 minutes

2011/12
Championship: 41 games, 16 goals.

Might be a good bet as a third or fourth choice striker if we get him on the cheap.

Regardless of whether this is cack or not (I'm going with cack) is he an ex-Spurs yoof product. Or is the combo of both Charlie and Austin just a typical late 90's - early 00's yoof player name. We seemed to produce an endless supply of bang average footballers with either Charlie or Austin in their full name.

Again not buying into the sawce but, players like this lad and Rhodes have scored plenty at a young age in a competitive league and wouldn't be too risky at a low cost. We need to look at young strikers as squad players if we dont think our youth are up to it. Championship players can do ok in the prem - Lambert etc

Agreed, both Austin and Rhodes would be good 3rd or 4th choices to have, they have scored and proved themselves in the same league that our youngsters Kane and Obiki.

So if they are proven in the same league as Kane and Obika why not just use Kane and Obika as 3rd or 4th choices rather than wasting millions?
