"Chelsea have been named European Club of the Year by the European Club Association.

The Champions League and FA Cup winners were recognised 'for their outstanding achievement during the 2011-12 season on a European and domestic level'".

How???!!!!???

They finished 6th in the league and played very dull football in Europe only managing to scrape through to win.

They were absolutely destroyed in the UEFA Super Cup against Athletico Madrid, who finished 5th in La Liga, so how have they been awarded this honour?

If not Chelsea who else should have won it? Surely they'd need major European silverware to even be considered.

It's not much of a reward really is it. Whoever wins CL gets named 'club of the year'. Seems a bit redundant to be honest.

So financial doping, cheating, lying, boring and being racially abusive is what the beautiful game is all about these days.

Carry on.

Who cares. It's the first I've ever heard of this award so I'm not about to get up in arms about it.

I'm still annoyed by them actually winning the Champions league, let alone the fact that they knocked us out in the process.
