Tottenham Hotspur completed one of the biggest transfers of the summer by signing Richarlison, but Spurs’ fierce London rivals, Chelsea, apparently tried to hijack that deal.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who revealed yesterday that right after Antonio Conte’s side agreed a deal with Everton, the Blues made an offer of their own to sign the Brazil international.

Chelsea is a vile institution masquerading as a football club. Would have definitely done the world a favour if they happened to cease to exist as part of the fallout of Roman Abramovic being sanctioned by the UK. ****s.

Can’t be angry with the ****s for trying to sign him, as he’s a great player.

Same as it ever was, except we're not the soft touch we used to be and they don't have Abramovic's unlimited ill gotten gains either.

Have all the money in the world and try to snap a player when he's having a medical instead of moving in early. Despicable and stupid club.

Ken Bates would have done the world a favour if he'd allowed the club to die in the early 1980s. Instead, he bought it and kept it going.

And sums up their scattergun transfer ‘strategy’.

Say what you want about our summer but we had specific targets and we got them all other than a CB.

We weren’t trying to hijack deals on a whim, we had a plan.

They seem to have some other unlimited ill gotten gains though.

TT has been sacked annoyingly, he was on a path of self destruct. I think conte sensed it at the bridge!

Hope they don’t get Poch!

I don’t see a problem with that. How many on here were calling for us to sign Paqueta when he flew in to sign for West Ham?

I think the new stadium helps in this kind of situation. Everyone wants to play in a World class stadium
