They rolled over and died for the woolwich wanderers so I fully expect them to play out of their skins against us.

A comfortable home win

I say this slightly in jest but I wonder if it might be worth trying a few youngsters in this match and those against City and Liverpool.

I don't see us getting much from those 3 games so may as well blood some youngsters and rest some of the main squad.

We can then bring people back in for the Burnley and Sheffield Utd games as wins in those games would be enough for 5th.

Won't happen but feels like just continuing to rotate some either knackered or out of form players doesn't do much for us.

Let’s try and still be in the game at half time. And who knows!! Agent Poch to put Palmer in goal. (And he will still score two)

Wouldn’t surprise me at all if we took 4 points from Chelsea and Liverpool. Chelsea have a ton of injuries (although of course Palmer misses the Arse and is back for us) and Liverpool’s season is going off the rails a bit.

It's far from a foregone conclusion certainly and I realise I'm being very defeatist.

I just feel the steam has entirely gone out of our season at this point.

Yep. We showed some decent fight against Arsenal so there's a chance we pick up a result or two we're not expecting yet. That spark from early season, or even the battling middle season during the injuries, seems have gone though.

The NLD showed everything about how our season is currently going- a spirited and at times unlucky team performance overall allied with a shabby defensive performance which in the end cost us dearly. The one part of our play under Ange that has been good is our possession of the ball. We are often up there in the rankings during matches, however, the issues are that a lot of that possession is sterile. We pass and pass, probe and probe and then pass and pass it back again, then to the side, then the other side then back again. We need more players willing to accept responsibility to become a top team and we need more defensive nous if we don't want our good season to peter out into a soggy anti-climax. It is concerning how easily we concede goals from set plays and how weak Vicario looks when anyone stands in front of him. Ange refuses to accept that it is an issue that needs to be resolved by a set piece specialist but he must surely accept that it is a joke and we must get better because the teams we have left to play will all try to get cheap goals from these sources and they won't even have to play well to beat us if we don't address it. We next go to Stamford Bridge to play a Chelsea team who were largely responsible for the wheels coming off our season when they beat us in the reverse fixture. We lost four key players from that game and lost three of our following four games after an unbeaten start. They themselves are super inconsistent but in Cole Palmer, they have one of the best players of the season in their ranks. They can play very well at times, but they are also prone to missing good scoring opportunities and switching off defensively. So, with two developing teams, under new management and with a lot of new players, struggling to find consistency, anything could happen on Thursday. To my mind this is the best opportunity to get a rare win over there as we have had for years. They are very beatable and we have the players to beat them, but only if we don't cut our own throat first. I foresee a goal-fest and us stumbling over the line with the points: Chelsea 2 Tottenham Hotspur 3. COYS!

I will be controversial and say

1) Maddison should not start this game.

2) Son is NOT a number 9 and therefore Richarlison should start there. Put Son on the left of the 3.
Kulu in middle and Johnson on the right

Only 11 senior players fit for them. They have nothing to play for. We will be hurting from the NLD.
Be stunned with anything other than 3-0 Chelsea.

I'd go for it against Chelsea & Liverpool; we need wins against rivals and big clubs to gather momentum and boost morale around the place.

Play the U12s against City; a big loss there will also do wonders for morale :cautious:

Yea I said this a few weeks back that Arsenal at home was our hardest game followed by city at home and that I felt confident we could get something away at Chavski & Lpool 🙏 let’s see.

A fightback yes but still a poor performance overall. And a loss.

It was certainly better than the recent nonsense but also not enough to make me confident in the next few games.
Fair enough although set pieces aside I felt like we played pretty well tbh.

We’ve been off form lately for sure but I always felt Newcastle away and Arsenal home would be really tricky whereas I feel like the way Chelsea and Liverpool’s seasons are petering out we could get something in both of those which could give us a big lift for the other games which should be more winnable.

In some ways the Werner injury probably makes up Ange's mind for him, surely have to play Son left and Richy up front. Just hope he plays Johnson RW and Kulu behind.

Really mate? That fight back against the gooners didn’t seem to suggest that at all
I agree with this 100%. If you look at the purple and gold "fans" on Twatter though (bellends like "Tottenham Away") you'd think all of our players are "shit", are on the beach, Ange needs to be sacked, Maddison is a rubbish chancer who needs to be sold, huge delight in Werner being injured.......I genuinely believe some of these people are mentally unwell and simply cannot cope with losing a derby match.

I mean its not all sunshine and roses but come on! Ultimately we are getting 5th and I'm cool with that......
