i wouldn't swap him for any of barca's midfield currently.
I was going to call you mad, until I had a look at their squad. Talk about slim pickings, only seven midfielders! And the only ones I've heard of are aging. Maybe Busquets at a push? But I'd take Eriksen on age alone. But Only 7 of them? How are they doing so well with such a shallow squad? Iniesta and Xabi, Old warriors.

You saying Eriksen could be sucked in by a big pay packet and want to stay there? That'd mean he no longer has Barca ambitions. Besides, there is no Barca ambitions that he's talked about is there? I guess they can be assumed with any footballer with a club like Barca.

That's not what I'm saying.

I'm saying if you sign for a club with deep pockets, it can be very difficult to get a move, unless you're surplus to requirements. PSG makes no sense for Eriksen IMO.

We all know, most players will get their transfer wishes granted though. Who wants a player who eyes are fixed on greater heights? Except desperate clubs who rely massively on their men like Liverpool with Suarez and Newcastle with Cabaye.

It makes it more difficult and makes the player potentially more pricey.

messi. (and neymar).

like you said, a lot of their supporting cast are past their best or just not up to it, they have a shallow squad with youngsters backing them up but some of those youngsters really aren't that great - players like sergi roberto and rafinha wouldn't get anywhere near our matchday squad imo. rakitic is a good player but i wouldn't swap eriksen for him, iniesta's name still holds massive appeal but i think he's dropped off a cliff over the last 18 months. busquets is the one i'd consider but if we were keeping it to more forward thinking midfielders then i wouldn't swap eriksen for any of theirs.

You mean the one from this year? Or further back? The one from this year, as far as I'm aware, reports only stated that it was Mourinho that asked him, not Modric wanting a move.

The summer before he left us for RM. We blocked his Chelsea move.

Yeah, but my point is, I don't think money is the only thing PSG could offer our man.

I think that's pretty much all they have to be frank. They're not going to win the CL any time soon (they're more likely to get kicked out entirely due to FFP) and Ligue 1 is on a par with the Eredivisie where he's already shone.

Although he has disappeared in many of the ’bigger' games he has also shone in many others

If all our buys had have been as successful up to now as Eriksen has been we’d be in a completely different league position as well as having a really strong squad

With his plans and though processes for his future I'm sure should one or two CL clubs come in for him in the Summer then he would seriously consider them & that's without DL possibly looking at a great business deal should an offer be high enough

So YES it's worrying....

No, just the notion of going to one club purely for the money to another. Fortunately Eriksen wants to be a top player, not just a rich one.

How do you know this? Is the same as when people claim they know Ade is only in football for the money?

Because Eriksen has said himself that he turned down Chelsea when he was 15, and Man City when he was a bit older, because he didn't think he'd be a regular player. Eriksen seems like his heads screwed on, but of course, so does Bale, and eventually a club came knocking that he couldn't turn down.

You should watch a documentary called "power, money, greed and oil". This explains some cultural background as to what Ade's motivations probably are. They word it very well on there...
