ORIENT boss Russell Slade has been left with a midfield headache as a spate of injuries threaten to ruin his team selection plans for Wednesday's FA Cup replay at Arsenal.

Skipper Stephen Dawson was stretchered off with a knee injury in Saturday's 2-2 draw against Huddersfield, and although the problem is nowhere near as serious as first thought, the Irishman remains a major doubt for the Emirates Stadium clash.

Fellow central midfielder Jimmy Smith has also emerged as a doubt after picking up a hamstring injury in training on Tuesday, and his fitness will be assessed on Wednesday.

It will be interesting to watch Tom Carroll aswell, he's made an impact since he arrived and will probably start tomorrow. He was pretty good last time against Arsenal where he came on and assisted Tehoue for the goal
