I watched dortmund lose at home to hertha Berlin yesterday, and it was a relief to see How They played.

This is a team in a bad run of form, but with great players all over. However, the looked very similar to us this season. Lot's of neat passing, but Whenever They gained territory They passed it back to the cb's having to start over again.

It was also lack of movement, preventing the free-flowing fotball they are known for. The pass started the run, instead of the opposite.

All this tidy passing resulted eventually in a lot of breaks, letting Berlin counter attack throughout the the game. It should also be mentioned that even having to sit back and defend a Lead for the entire second half, Hertha never looked threatened.

I feel there is a lot of similarities to our team here, and that maybe there is light in the end of the tunnel.

Maybe, just maybe, the psycoligacal aspect of the game is far greater Than we believe? And maybe, When confidence is lost, Even the best players look average and make poor decisions.

This can also be to AVBs defence, that this kind of shit happens and it's hard to work your way around it, and it's very difficult to implement your philosophy to the team in the extent you want. But also, it's on AVBs shoulders that he didn't work his way through this.

The new manager (or Timmmeeeey) must be good at man-management and restore confidence and belief!

Just an observation... (And my first thread:D)

This was our style of play for 17 months under AVB....like watching paint dry ! Last season he had GB as his "get out of jail free " card. Dont think there was any attempt to work round the problem. His way was the only way.

We aren't a great team though, we didn't thrash Real Madrid 4 - 0 or appear in the CL final.

But that is exactly the point! We got soldado, lamela and Eriksen in the summer. These are players that Could have gone to any european top team and nobody would be surprised. In our team They look like Trash, Garbage and Shit.
What if it's just a matter of time before They show their true selves?

I mean, we would have gone mental if we'd lost at home vs hertha Berlin, and we didn't even play the Champions league final last season.

As for the Bale thing - every team needs a "one man team player". Liverpool got Suarez, Barca got Messi, Psg got Zlatan, etc... It's not a bad thing and we should hope we Get a new player like this. The thing is, if you Could add a couple of other good players as well as a system - you would be in really good shape!

Now let's thrash soton!!!!!

Dortmund are decimated by injuries in any case, their whole back line are out plus Gudogan who is their main architect.

Dortmund turned down Eriksen, for one, and showed no interest in Soldado or Lamela.

How is that any different from us over the last weeks?

I Could still see mickyterian, sahin, lewandowski, reus create f*** all Against a medioker team.

Because that's the core of Dortmund's problems which couldn't be any more different to ours.

Just had this as my facebook status "Spurs in crisis. Only 17 points away from the relegation zone and a massive 3 points from 4th"
