I’m going tonight but due to the train strikes the last train from Liverpool Street to Chelmsford is 10:30 so don’t want to risk that. Any idea of best place to drive and park to get a tube or overground? We’re looking at Shenfield or Enfield but I read on here that the Enfield car park closes at 10pm. Nightmare!

You may have better luck going from Northumberland Park station (may give you an extra 15-20mins)

Last times I went to the old WHL my mates were using the Footsteps Football Academy in Willoughby Lane just off the N.Circ and only under 10 mins to the ground.

Give them a bell - they might be open letting folk park there for a tenner but that was 6 years ago.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Imagine Macca coming out and doing a duet on Live and Let Die.

Didn’t have any luck with that but I found a spot on someone’s driveway for £10 just a few mins from Enfield station. Can’t wait now as I got into G’n’R (accidentally) when I was about 9 and never looked back!

2010? I was there. You must have been fairly hammered, I remembered them as pure shit. :ROFLMAO: They were late so everyone was pretty pissed anyway, and they were so flaaaat. You expect better from a headline act
Saw them Download 2006 (I think) but that was solely Axl.

They arrived on stage 1 hour late.
Axl repeatedly went backstage to get changed.
And whilst doing so left the guitarists to just play really long boring solos.
Eventually the crowd got restless and started pelting drinks to which the guitarist reacted by throwing his guitar which hit a steward in front who was close to clocking him back.

Was an absolute mess and all because of Axls diva behaviour.

Honestly not surprised. I've been to plenty of gigs where I don't really enjoy the music, but the show is amazing. You really appreciate good performers that way. Sometimes you get an artist who has the complete package, which is so rare these days. I still love Guns N Roses early music, who doesn't? But the way they behave, especially towards their fans at gigs, pisses me off. The whole Rock n Roll lifestyle doesn't involve being a dick, which I think is lost on some  You can be Rock n Roll or Metal and still be respectful to your fans!

Saw them in the sun in Lisbon a few years ago. Led with welcome to the jungle and did more than 30 songs in a 3hr set. Magnificent day, they were glorious, must have been 70-80000 there in a wide open space next to the sea. Defo in my top 3, AC/DC at Stratford (cough) and Metallica in Vienna only ones better.

FFS, every time I think about all the performances (at festivals I should add) of them I have seen it has been shit. Then someone like yourself appears and mentions an amazing experience. I hate you.

I can hear the sound check for the concert later today in the garden (unless it has started super early). I stayed to listen whilst some fucker was pulling off a nice little solo on the guitar

sorry lol. I liken going to a concert as a holiday so make sure it’s right. I’ve found concerts abroad typically much better than in the uk for some reason and always a great idea to mix it with a city break. AC/DC in Stratford though was incredible tbh. Was laughing for ages at the support band having 2 rows by height of speakers, then AC/DC took half an hour to make it at least 8 or 10 high before they started.

No issues today wonder what problem was yesterday.
Could be as rossco reported yesterday:

"The delay was nothing to do with ground and stadium. The production call the shots and they had a sound issue so the production team said completely no entry because they didn't want 55000 people kicking off if they couldn't play.
Spoke to a couple of stadium staff and they wanted everyone in to sell more beer/food etc but understood the production teams stance."

So, I’m in block 530 this evening. Plenty far enough away.

The sound is okay.

It’s a big stadium. Echoey and reverberant.

Can’t really defeat the laws of physics in that respect.

It’s not bad, though. Should imagine on the floor it sounds great.

It's my thread, and so far fucking unbelievable! Support sounds great and my two gooner mates are just gutted, jealous, envious, sick.... Just like their transfer window.

Seeing so many variations of review it must be to do with location in the stadium. Personally I wouldn’t judge the acoustics till GaGa as feel she will have a better set up.
