So likely to be sold then. usually the symbolic gesture to get the selling club more money.

Yup, Harry said we wouldn't pay what they were after for a 17yr old who wouldn't come straight into the team.

So it seems, they're trying everything to get the amount they want.

Better and much much cheaper out there. Leandro is now a full international for Brazil and would only cost 1/4 of what Wickham would.

Needs a couple more years in the championship anyway, so if we'd've bought him we'd've loaned him back out anyway.

Has Leandro indicated that he wants to come to Spurs then? Have Interncional indicated that they want to sell him to us for 1/4 of whatever fee Wickham has tagged to him?
I'm not sure he needs another couple of years in the Championship by the way, he may but he may only need one, either way he'd be our player and we wouldn't have to pay even more for him in two years time, no?

We have a feeder club/first refusal agreement with Interncional, so Leandro is surely very much in our mind (although he's being linked with Real Madrid at the moment).

I'm sure his buddy Sandro has been telling him good things about us.

I tend to view it this way (and I'll admit that it's not 100% but it's a good guide).....if a player signs in the window, he will not move. if a player signs before the window, he will.

Just a guide, but it worries me with Bale.

I can recommend a better guide: Player signs contract = a sign of commitment for at least another year.

This is the case in all but a rare few cases.

I was at the Bristol City v Ipswich game today, and I was impressed by Wickham.

I didn't realise how big the guy is. His physical presence was a real handful for the City defence. He looked comfortable on the ball, and perhaps more importantly, his movement off it was very intelligent.

Got to hear lots of City chants about dead prostitutes in Ipswich as well. Which was..erm..nice?

Based on what I saw today, I wouldn't go that far, but he's definitely talented, and with better players around him I reckon he could make an impact in the Premiership.

Caulker's injured and returned a few weeks ago.

Wickham reminds me of Dzeko .. whether that's good or not I'm not sure.

Dan, think you'll have to research that...I'm fairly certain I remember Inter going out of their way to stress that, whatever the nature of our argreement was, we didn't have first refusal on their players. It might, in effect, be something similar, but I think it's a bit more complicated.

Who was the other lad who scored a 35 yard screamer? Talk Sport have labelled the kid as possibly better than Wickham and if Connor is worth £15m this lad is worth at least that.

Josh Carson. It wasn't 35 yards, but it was still a great strike. He played well...good ball control and some nice little touches.

Obviously I don't follow Ipswich closely, but from what I saw today I'd say that Wickham looks more like a player that could do well in the Premiership. Not just his physical presence, but his running off the ball and general work-rate.

Carson is certainy one to keep an eye on. He also ran towards the Bristol City-supporting corner of the ground where I was stood, to celebrate his goal in pretty cocky fashion...which caused a lot of City fans to get very angry whilst making me chuckle.

I'd like to say that there are some great talents at Bristol City that we should be looking at, but it's safe to say they are all completely shit.
