He has a great engine on him, never stops running and he was Crystal Palace Star man when he was on loan there.

Genuinely don't understand what the point of this would be. I don't see him offering anything different to what we've already got tbh. Won't be cheap enough to be a squad filler and we need other roles filled far more urgently. Agent leak trying to drum up interest would be my guess.

I’d say a slightly more productive in the attacking third player than skipp, but similiar yeah

Ange’s system relies on pressing machines in the 8 position who are comfortable receiving and progressing the ball, playing up around the box and arriving late for goals. That is literally Gallagher to a tee.

If we can get a young England international in a key position it opens up so much flexibility squad building elsewhere and makes rebuilding so much easier. Can definitely see this happening if finances are right, makes a lot of sense.

I wouldn't mind this guy. Dude's a terrorist, in that he's always hassling and hurrying, plus he has some good tekkers.
Could be a great squad player, who could probably cover multiple positions.

High energy player that I don’t think we have

Not a fan, watched him a few times for Chelsea (I know it's not easy to judge based on their form this season) but I've never seen anything which would make me want him. No thanks

And I don't want us doing a single thing to help Chelsea out of the hole they've dug themselves into, especially not for a pretty average player like Gallagher.

Do they have any midfielders left if he leaves?
Kante
Kovacic
Loftus cheek
Now Gallagher…
Yeah they will need to sign players in that area. They have Enzo and Chukwuemeka and are set to sign Ugarte and Caicedo. But yeah, you would think theyd want to keep a few of those player.

The thing is Gallagher is from the academy which means he will count much more in terms of how these transfers aare accounted, and will help them with FFP. Something they need to sort out if they are to continue investing, or even if they dont invest at all. So, the priority of Chelsea this window is to sell players they have developed. Gallagher fits the bill.

He was insanely good for Crystal Palace mind. 8 goals from CM and dynamic. In chelsea he was in and out of a team with big problems and often played in odd positions. Play him as a number 8, give him the liscense to get into the box he will thrive. I think he would be a clever signing personally. I think Sancho would too.

Because, Im not interested how they most recently have been playing but rather what they could do for us, in what will be a new system. We need mobile n.8 who are good at bursting into the box. We don't currently have any really, few potential options but nothing proven. But that seems like a position made for Gallagher. We then need winger, not AMs who play as wingers, or forwards who play as wingers. But players who love to stick to the byline run into space and pull cutbacks, or to thread passes for unrushing midfielders, and fullbacks. Sancho can do that, and arguebly much better than what we have.

Gil is also likely to benefit because he can provide similar things, but necesserily because he's got better, or because he just wasnt given the chance. In fact it wouldn't particularly suprise me to see Sessegnon thrive in a more attacking wide role. because we are looking for players who are able to stick out wide with pace, and not thecut inside shoot type of players that are common today. Because the role will be to create the width and spaces for other players to expose.

The point isn't really about form but what do we need from players and can they provide that. Gallagher can provide that, as an energetic midfielder that breaks into the box. Sancho can provide that, as a wide man who hugs the touchline. The links make sense and I think both would be sensible and clever signings. Hypothetically, we could sign Jack Grealish or something. Grealish is undeniably a great player but he would be a terrible fit for what Ange is going to do so he would likely not play as well as he should and has at Man city and Aston Villa. Or someone like Neymar too, doesn't fit with what we are likely to want to build.

Players like Sancho and Gallagher are both playing for teams who are not playing to their strengths. Good reason too, because neither are good enough to adapt your system to fit them, collective is more important. But, the system we are likely to play suits their strengths without them needing to adapt all that much. So they are likely to be much better for us than at their previous clubs.

I think Gallagher is nothing like anything we've got. He's an offensive minded box to box CM who breaks into the box. It's not his fault when he is played out of position.
