Sarr looks to be at the stage where he needs to play week in week out. If this happens, which I don't think it will, I hope it's not at the expense of Sarr.

Most PL sides will be using 4-5 midfielders over 90 minutes.

The best sides will have minimal to no drop off in quality and intensity.

Gallagher isn’t flashy but gets us where we need to be and keeps the balance to protect our high line.

Expensive but low risk and worth it.

Too many big IFs here.

1. Atletico offering what Levy wants for Hojberg. Better chance of us loaning him to them having not checked loan rules and he ends up there permanently ala Doherty.
2. The fee Chelsea want.
3. The player would have to decide to leave his boyhood club whilst knowing he would be a regular starter there under Poch who clearly fancies him.
4. Spurs wanting to take it to the wire of 11pm
5. Spurs wanting to take it to the wire of 11pm WITH CHELSEA.

I'm pretty sure my avatar will remain unchanged.

Gallagher isn’t a creative player so I’m assuming he will be rotating with Bentancur, Sarr and Skipp for the other CM spot. I do wonder if Bentancur and Sarr could also maybe play the Biss role.

I wasn’t wild on him previously but he has looked solid for Chelsea and I can see the appeal in the same way Veiga would have fit.

I do think it might be a little bit of overkill tho and I’m not sure we would have someone who would adequately cover for Biss if he were to get injured. Still I’m much more positive on him then Johnson and Ange apparently really likes him so that’s very encouraging.

Yeah I think this one remains very unlikely still. Hinges on Atletico stumping up the money in the next few hours

This. The way we play our guys are done at 65-70 mins. Need to have no dropoff in quality.

but I’m confident PEH will screw us so all a moot point

From a squad building perspective I do agree a 6 would have made more sense but I suspect Sarr or Bentancur would be able to cover that role with a bit of training.

Seems Ange is super keen so he must have a vision in his head. He also doesn't seem averse to making a couple of changes to CM each game to keep energy levels up so does make some sense there in terms of depth. I suspect if he comes in Skipp may be looking for a loan in January, unless they do something outlandish like training him as an inverted RB.

TRANSLATION: We REALLY like him, so you better pony up a big offer. It's a dance!!

Not exactly going to say, he's shit, never wanted him, you can have him.
Nah I think he's being genuine. Just know that mad club will do what they want, not what he wants

Of course he is. There's no downside in saying it.

If he goes, the buying club need to put in a serious offer. If he stays, he still feels loved and puts in a shift, despite offers.

Real story here is will Hojbjerg move ? If not , there is no Gallagher.
People seem convinced Atletico will pay up. I can't see it. Seems like Sanchez and Dier are staying too. Levy is either rejecting bids or loan moves. I think it will just be Johnson unless PEH decides on Fulham but I think he's the sort of player that would back himself to get into the team here rather than end up there.

I think it only happens if we accept a pretty rubbish offer from Atletico to facilitate the move. They are skint.

I think that this one makes a lot of sense, but as other posters have alluded to previously:

1. there is a v high probability Chelsea will fuck us last minute on this
2. I don’t see us having a £50m bench warmer, which may restrict Sarr’s game time

Either way, I’m much more onboard with this one than I would have otherwise been at the start of the summer, and see him more as a long term upgrade on Skipp rather than PEH. Means we won’t have to worry about HG options for the foreseeable too, assuming that he does well and that we give him a licence to play like Palace did.

Well if they aren't they're sure acting it. I'm sceptical of a lot of it though, some of these clubs are definitely taking the piss. Getting big fees for players then making lowball bids for PL players, or hoping the clubs will panic and loan them players at the last minute. I'd take £20m for Hojbjerg today tbh, and £25m from a PL side like Fulham.

I guess the problem is we need to shift PEH ideally if we can get the fee we want, replacement or not. He won't be worth £15m next summer with the amount of game time he will get.

That’s the thing re Skipp, he’s certainly a bit of a weak link currently but he’s one of our only club trained players and next year if we get into the CL 4 of our 8 HG players would need to be club trained. Assuming we would register a full squad. So we can’t really afford to get rid If him but yes a loan might be the best move if Connor comes.

Tbh I completely get why Ange wants Gallagher. For me tho I would have much preferred we had put the Gallagher and Johnson money together and went for a seriously good attacking target. £80-90 mil could have potentially got someone of top quality for our front line which for me currently is the weakest part of the squad from a first 11 perspective.

Gallagher I think will do really well for Ange and I’ll be happy to get him but there is an element of him being a bit of a luxury considering how stacked CM is in comparison to other positions.

Anyway, I’m not against the signing at all and I think he will do well for Ange. So it is a positive move regardless of my feelings on our overall business.

Ever since he played against us Vs West Brom, and Palace, I’ve liked him. He was a little bit, everywhere all over the pitch. Tackling, stopping play, creating. He was a pain in the backside.

There are a lot of if’s in this deal tho. All dependent on Hojbjerg.

Surely Chelsea will just fuck us at the last minute here. Just because they can, and it’s us.

Hope we have another option lined up, because if PEH leaves we will be in trouble.

Yeah can’t see this one happening now.

Too many variables need to go our way
