He might not be the most polished world beater but I am loving this young, energetic theme we’re building. The average age of the squad now is something like 24 with a tonne of potential, passion, points to prove and stamina. CG fits right into this. Fingers crossed….

I was thinking more along the lines of Kirsty, but each to their own.

And there goes the price bump. £45m just went to £50m.
Like all these it’s lost in how the add ons work. We probably want 35-40 + 5 and they probably want 40-45+ 5.

I’d be shocked if there isn’t a deal to be done in that range.

just need PEH to point and yell for ATL Madrid to get off their asses and move.

After 4 HG players the rest effectively count as foreign unless club trained.

17 foreign + 4 HG + 4 club trained.

If we had 17 foreign and 5 HG
, the 5th couldn’t be registered.

We need club trained players.

The club trained rule only applies for European competition though, not for the PL at least.

For Europe though you’re spot on, we need to make sure we have club trained players.

Do we really need to sell Pierre to afford him?

I suspect it is more to do with numbers.

I think Hojbjerg will go, but I dont see why Gallagher would want to join us.

I don’t think it’s a money thing. Def a squad size issue. Fact is if we got him and kept PEH we would be very bloated in CM without any cup games.

He's just not suited to us at all now and needs to go. I've never really been a fan but appreciate he tries hard.

Plus last chance to get a decent fee for hojberg

That's why I think he will go. Next summer teams arent going to offer half of what they are offering now.

That’s true short term, and we also have one more year of Sarr and Udogie U21 in PL.

But we have to be building the squad for Europe.
I think we are. You can see pretty clearly a world where Davies, Forster and Sess are moved on in next year or two. Maddison, Johnson, Gallagher and CB a pretty good association trained 4 going forward.

would be great to get real clarification on Sarr. I think he’s screwed in Europe due to stupid loophole about start of season vs registration deadline, but would be nice to know for.

we should be keeping close eye on Cirkin as LB cover. He’s developing nicely at Sunderland.

Just get rid of Skipp too to make sure this happens. He’ll barely see the pitch if we sign Gallagher and once Bentancur returns

It should though, we are directly competing with them, and they would not sell to us if the shoe was on the other foot.
Spurs price should be £70m+
Seriously f**k spurs, and f**k Levy.
If it was Villa or Everton, I'd be disappointed at this stage given his start, but we are strengthening a massive rival. Spurs look good this season too, not that much of a stretch to say Gallagher going there could be the difference between us and them for the last Champions League spot.
I'm hoping it breaks down at some point. Would rather lose him for less money in January to someone else.
Seriously f**king Tottenham.

Thing is, we’re signing all of these random kids who I bet won’t make the first team. It’s just shiny new toys.
Trev and Conor are worth their place in the squad. They’re good enough to be at Chelsea.
Really hope we don’t sell Conor. There’s no need to. And especially not to Spurs.

Spurs aren't seen as our direct rivals....
Man United
Arsenal
Liverpool
Those are the teams we have been tussling with for nearly 2 decades now.
The club won't see spurs as a club we cannot deal with for the same reasons as fans, just doesn't happen.

Shouldn't even sell him in general let alone sell him to Spurs.
Really don't want us to sell Connor. Lad has really grown on me. Not least for his spoken and demonstrated love for the club.
Poch has had him playing every game so far and he's been a stand out performer in every one, i'd be very concerned if the board starts selling players that Poch clearly prefers.

This one would annoy me.
Not too bothered about Chalobah and even Maatsen (don't think he's defensively good enough for LB nor attackingly strong enough for the front areas) but there's literally no need to sell a player who will die for this club and is improving by the game to Spurs of all teams.
Hopefully he does a JT and refuse to move.

Ridiculous when they have agreed to pay 45mi for Johnson.
We must be desperate for cash at such prices. His minimum should be 50mill in this market, plus 10mill Spurs tax.
Above all we should not be selling him.

As an aside a few people on that forum are saying if he goes its against Pochs wishes.

I think opinion on this transfer comes down to your preference on signings.

Are you happy accepting players who are better than the depth we have, but below the level of the first 11. Alternatively you may prefer to try and sign players of superior quality to the first 11 and push those players to the bench, whilst also acquiring young players with high ceilings (Like Sarr). I'm in the latter camp personally but I do appreciate that having young English players when you're building the foundations of your team can prove hugely beneficial. I just wish we developed them instead of bought them.

That's the spirit spursfan77!
Maybe he feels we've got a successful future ahead of us. 😊

The old man is a Chelsea fan and really doesn't want to lose him.
I'm desperate for us to sign him just to piss off my auld man, that'll teach him for not buying the SNES for my birthday
