Not sure that's quite the phew you think it is. It basically says he wants to stay at Chelsea but they won't offer him a contract, certainly not with a big rise, and he's not going to "undervalue himself" which means he wants more money.

If he came to us, it would be reluctantly as Chelsea need the money. Not sure he'd ever put in the graft, and I think there are other more suitable, cheaper alternatives.

Such a boring link/story.
Not a massive fan but a good consistent attitude with guaranteed effort might go a long way in galvanising this talented but disparate bunch. Bar MVDV/Vicario no real confidence we'll see much consistency from the others on a weekly basis.

Can we please close this thread? He's never coming to Spurs and he's not that great anyway.

I don’t think he’ll come here but we have info saying Ange likes him and we know his contract is expiring. Then there’s Chelsea financial situation and their general decline over the last couple of seasons.

Whilst all that still applies, I don’t think you can confidently say “never”.

This one doesn't seem to be going away. Still think there's better options out there depending on the price

Hahaha! Here we go again.

While I do agree with you it really seems that Ange has made it clear this is one of the midfield targets he wants. The other thing I would add is that I was surprised the other day to see he's up to 5 goals and 8 assists on the season, which is pretty solid for a CM. I don't watch much Chelsea, but I know a lot of the narrative was that he's playing deeper there then his time at Crystal Palace.

Looks like it will be PEH out and Gallagher in.

At least we will be gaining a HG spot and our midfield is going to be absolutely stacked.

It's a strange one. He's home grown, Ange reportedly likes him, his playing style fits us and he could be available for under his value.

But at the same time I'm not convinced he's that good a player and there might be better value available.

A signing I'd be happy at us making but not bothered if we don't.

I think he would be a very good signing personally although I can see why people are a bit dubious. Home grown (badly needed), full England international, plays with a ton of energy and I believe would fit into Ange's system like a glove. If we can get him for a cut price deal due to Chelsea's problems then I'd be all for it.

I remain convinced that many people's reticence is simply because he's a Chelsea player and Chelsea is his club. Had he played for the likes Brighton or Everton I think there'd be less resistance.
Personally I am in favour, he gives his all and makes an impression on a game.

I really don't think it is that simple. He's a good player that doesn't stand out as being exceptional.

It's always going to make people sit on the fence or be a bit unsure.

Chelsea gonna want big money so he won’t be moved till the end of the window if at all.

I rather focus elsewhere and get players in early.

I wouldn't mind Gallagher, especially with all the games we'll have to play. I think it would be massive to have the option to, for example, play on a Wednesday/Thursday with Sarr, to then be able to play on the Saturday/Sunday with a fresh Gallagher, or vice versa. Same for when we need fresh legs in the second half of games without sacrificing quality.

Definitely think he'd help to not run options into the ground, but maintain the required level too.

Which of the midfield positions would he be for? I'm all for squad depth but my assumption would be that he plays in the Sarr / Bentancur position which doesn't feel a priority for spending big on
