I’ve heard this 30th June FFP deadline being bandied about.

If that’s the case, surely clubs have to make money this window, seeing as the summer window doesn’t open until 1st July?

My only hesitation with Gallagher - does he really want to come to Spurs?

That is a big deal to Ange - even more so than talent and tactical fit.
Conor’s made it pretty clear he’s not pushing for a move and would like to stay at Chelsea.

However if Chelsea forces him out; given our recent resurgence, our relationship with his agents, and the fact he’s already settled in London, I think we’d likely be his preferred destination.

He’s a good player and good players don’t like to be unwanted so I think it’s plausible he leaves if they show him the door

if he knows he is going he may significantly prefer us to anyone else if he knows Ange wants him and the system suits him. He may love Chelsea but it’s still his career and he has to do the best for it.

I think this is more of an accounting issue - than a player registration issue. Players can be sold - and bought - any time.

Is this not dependent on Pierre going? No saley no buyey
Yeah definitely will be which means it's likely to be a last day deal if anything.

Probably why there aren't many alternative names for midfield floating around either.

I don't see it happening, Just don't think anyone is going to offer what we want for Pierre, and I just don't think once players are back from Int' duty and injury we need another CM. And I'm not a massive fan of... 'just back the manager'

You have loan Hojbjerg out if it allows to bring in Gallagher as long as it's who Ange wants

I think that only happens if a deal can be brokered where the loan fee is quite substantial and a solid obligation to make the deal permanent is also agreed.

Even that’s not ideal for the bottom line, but if any club has some wiggle room where it comes to FFP/PSR I imagine it is us.

I think a dry loan would be absolutely fine because we can sell him with more time in the summer. I just think if he's not in our long term plans we should just loan him if we have an incoming who is part of those plans.

I've said this elsewhere but I think we have 3 midfield positions and currently 4 players who can cover them sufficiently. Maybe 5 if you have Deki as the Madders alternative but I think he's at his best further forwards.

If we're genuinely considering ourselves a title contending team then we need the options.

But i do agree its unlikely to happen this window.

https://www.skysports.com/transfer-centre info from lyall on possible transfers -

Spurs are continuing to do work on younger, more long-term targets in every position and – as well as the established interested in Conor Gallagher at Chelsea, they have also been tracking Atalanta star Ederson.

Timo Werner has joined on an initial loan to cover the winger position, so Spurs will also continue to monitor the progression of Cercle Brugge’s Antonio Nusa and Norwich’s Jonathan Rowe among others.

Us, sowing: hahaha yes, let's just buy us another player, the squad can accommodate, we'll use the loan systen, yeeeessss

Us, reaping: ah man we've GOT to clear out all this dead wood in the squad, why are we getting such derisory offers for them, wtf

To throw a cat amongst the pigeons...

If I were to choose from the admittedly tiny sample of this weekends games, between him and Skipp, I'd probably say that Skipp offered more to the team and looked the more dynamic player.
I personally think Skipp had a great game and Gallagher was pretty anonymous.
Yeah it’s absolutely pointless to replace Skipp with this lad. Both do similar things. Its the case of wanting a new shiny thing for the sake of it.

Also just wouldn’t feel right getting rid of one of our own and replacing him with a born and raised chav 😂

I’m not a huge Skippy fan but would rather wait for something better, there is no rush.

The more I think about this, the more I don't want it to happen. Nothing against the lad, I just want Chelsea to burn.

This is my ideal scenario, Chelsea fail FFP next season, get a 10 point deduction and are in a relegation battle, they just stay up thanks to heroic performances from their captain Gallagher.

Gallagher runs his contract out and spurs pick him up for free.

Chelsea then get more sanctions against them and get relegated. Then the club goes out of business and the Chelsea fans are all sent to penal colony on an uninhabited island where a mad scientist does experiments on them to see if they can turn them into human beings, which eventually fails.

The end.

Posting this here as I imagine it has big implications around Conor Gallagher. It looks like he will surely stay at Chelsea if Broja leaves as Broja will bring in £20-30m and is a HG academy player so will be pure profit on the books for them:

They'll probably have to sell all of Gallagher, Broja, Chalobah, Maatsen and Colwill to keep their head above the FFP line coming year. Or face the point reductions.
