They'll probably have to sell all of Gallagher, Broja, Chalobah, Maatsen and Colwill to keep their head above the FFP line coming year. Or face the point reductions.

Nah they won't have to sell all of them imo.

I reckon they sell Broja, Chalobah and Maatsen between now and the summer. Gallagher will end up signing a new deal imo.

Nail on the head as far as lo celso goes. For me Gallagher replaces skipp, PEH and lo celso. Then we can find another midfield gem for a purchase and loan back for 6/18 months
We can't replace Skipp, PEH and Lo Celso with Gallagher. We only had Skipp, PEH and Bentancur available on Sunday, so replacing all 3 with one player would be made, especially with European football next season.

I see no reason to replace Skipp as long as he's happy to stay. He's HG and more importantly CT for Europe and is a decent squad option.

But I think replacing PEH and Lo Celso is right. PEH can't play Ange's style of football and is non-HG. Very decent player still, but not for us. Lo Celso would be fine if he could stay fit, which seemingly he can't.

Personally I'd keep Lo Celso till the summer and loan out Donley now to a championship club, now Maddison is back and Deki can play deeper. Then sell Lo Celso in the summer and give his spot to either Alfie or Donley, who ever impresses more.

Yeah I would keep Skippy as back up

Posting this here as I imagine it has big implications around Conor Gallagher. It looks like he will surely stay at Chelsea if Broja leaves as Broja will bring in £20-30m and is a HG academy player so will be pure profit on the books for them:

Not sure who’s gonna be buying him if this what they value him at.

So... guess it'll come down to if there is a club willing to pay 40M for Broja and if not, they go to option b - which is sell Gallagher to us for about the same. I think the Broja thing is about wanting to avoid option B. However, if the most they can get for a so-so striker is 20M, then they have a problem. Question is whether or not we value Gallagher at 40M. Or feel we can do better business elsewhere. Either way - you sense this situation will drag out until the last two days of the window.

If the next “business period” ends say may31 then it wouldn’t surprise me if potential buyers are waiting for the end of this window to drive down the price.

Nobody is paying that for Broja. Potential only and has already had some nasty injuries. Everyone knows Chelsea’s playbook is to sell HG players and their need to balance the books puts them in a weak negotiating position.

They have 2 HG players who might give them good money, Gallagher and Colwell. I read somewhere they need over £100m for next years FFP so I would imagine multiple sales.

They must be desperate
They must be fucking mad more like. The days of clubs paying over the odds for the likes of Broja are over. Do they think they’re the only club struggling the PSR/FFP?

The top clubs won’t want him, the second tier probably don’t need him, and the mid to low end teams can’t afford him. The chances of a European club paying that are laughable too.

Alan Shearer once went for £15m, he was a striker.
Andy Booth was also a striker, so since other strikers went for 15 maybe it wouldn't have been so crazy to have signed Booth for 7m considering?

They started the ball rolling by paying piss take fees. Now they're trying to repeat the trick with demanding piss take fees.

Or rather they have set their stall. Up to buyers to try and counter. Who blinks first.
