Decent player, but indicative of the shit Chelsea are in that a guy who couldn’t get into their team is now captain. As much as I joke about wanting him because it’d fuck Poch off, frankly, I’d only want the Palace version of him, not the Chelsea one hah.

So far…..👀. Come on Levy do it for Jim White, he must be the most flaccid he’s ever been on deadline day.

Reading the comments on Chelsea Reddit, they really don't rate him very highly. I know that doesn't mean much like Kulusevski at Juve, but I think their fans would bite our hands off for anything like the figures reported.

I know a lot of Chelsea fans that are split on him, some rate him & some don’t.

I think it’s similar to Boxing, fight styles make fights & tactics/formations make a player. Under certain managers players will look a lot different depending on the way the team plays.

maybe Ange thinks he will fit our system and get even better ?

I'm very much in the don't category. He stands out because he's busy but I see very little quality. Being in a really poor, under-performing side makes his job difficult, but he's also part of the reason they've been so poor.

I won't lose a minute's sleep if we don't sign Gallagher, especially at the prices being mentioned. Just looks a distinctly average player to me, albeit with a good engine.

Just gotta hope bissouma is up to the task

Has anybody watched any of the Mali games to see how Biss has been playing? I know he has been working through some sickness, but if we can get him back to his early season form it would be huge for the run-in.

He's been ill, injured, out of form, and mostly sitting on the bench.
Will not return in 100% form.

He’s not better than sarr or Bissouma and we have enough squad rotation in midfield. He’s only a step up from Skipp but not much of a step up.

Broja to Fulham on loan isn't going to help their ffp.
As I expected they're relying on an early summer window sale. I'm sure we'll still be sniffing around Gallagher if they get desperate.

I think his contract with Chelsea is up in 2025, so who would be daft enough to pay £50m in the summer? In regards to FFP, Chelsea's strategy is very high risk if you ask me.

Maybe they’re hoping someone like United or Arsenal will be willing to massively overpay come the summer. Both have been known to do so in the recent past, although I agree it’s highly unlikely.

The other issue they may have is Gallagher being unwilling to move. For example someone like West Ham could come in with the best offer but Gallagher could refuse to move there and wait to move on free instead.

They'll try and get similar to what we got Maddison for

So we got the talent with more potential, with more positional flexibility, who will still be HG, and is 6 years younger? Yeah, I’m good with that.

It would take an idiot to cough up 40-50m for Gallagher in the two week window that Chelsea have to supposedly raise 100m for PSR. The market has got them by the balls, I can't see them raising it elsewhere either, Chalobah and Broja maximum of 40-50m IMO. Can't understand what they are playing at, seems strange leaving it all to the last minute.

They might have been expecting us to make a bid this window but we have played it superbly by not even contacting them at all, can only increase the pressure.

My only concern is that there is something we don't know.

It will be interesting to see if we do go for 1 more midfielder in the summer. I think with Lo Celso down to 1 year left and Hojbjerg likely to leave we might well do. Whether that will be Gallagher though I'm not sure. I fancy a cheaper option considering it will be more for depth anyway. Unless Chelsea really has to come down on price. For around 30m all in I would still take him.
