He had great potential at MK Dons

He fulfilled his potential at Spurs for a couple of seasons

He’s now maxed/maxing out his commercial worth and like his boss, took his eye off the ball!

It would be incredible to see the Dele Alli of about 4 seasons ago, but, come on….

He should get his chance when he earns it, and once he does, he should expect no favoritism. He'll have to work extremely hard to win Conte over.

Unfortunately (like a few others) he can no longer sprint.
His sprint is a quick jog.
His footwork was pretty slow when he was at his most mobile.
I know Conte likes willing runners but Don't think that'll be enough to get/keep Dele in the team when he sees/realizes his flaws.

He’s become the ultimate metaphor for our club in its current carnation: rich in potential, promising in limited moments and overwhelmingly disappointing

If Conte can get Winks, Alli or whoever playing well and contributing effectively then great.

One of my great hopes is that under Conte we will finally find out which players have been underperforming and which simply aren't good enough.

I strongly suspect that there'll be some surprises.

Ultimately its a no brainer for Conte to come out with these comments. Either it gives Dele some fire and he shows something or it makes other clubs think he is still an option for transfer.
