Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik reported Friday that Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has given the green light for the club to pursue Fenerbahce center back Kim Min-jae this summer.

Kim, a Korean national team regular, has been linked to the Premier League club for years, with Spurs reportedly putting in an offer for the defender back when he paid for Beijing Guoan in the Chinese Super League.

I do hope not. Admittedly, not seen much of him since his move, but saw him a fee times prior and he seemed to have a habit of rushing out of defence for balls he had little, to no chance of winning.

Certainly left space to exploit in behind him.

When we were linked with him before he went to Turkey, I thought he looked pretty impressive in the clips that people shared.

Got good recovery pace, seems to read the game/danger pretty well, can see/pick a pass and, bizarrely, can seemingly actually attack a corner & score.

Thr stuff of dreams!

A decent Coach would soon address that. I think we should be looking at much better though and LCB is a priority, but Kim does seem pretty versatile.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

I was going to say - if it's true then presumably Conte is confident that he can coach any weaknesses out of him.

Been keeping an eye on him for a couple of years. Wouldn't be a surprise if we went for him this Summer. Has a lot of admirers.

With no disrespect meant whatsoever. Judging solely from those clips I posted above, I'm seeing a better option than Sanchez.

Could be smart business if there's still interest in Sanchez from Spain etc. We could probably bring in Kim for less than we'd get for Sanchez. Thus freeing up funds for other areas?

Seems a bit odd to be freeing up funds for other areas when LCB is a very obvious area for improvement. I'm certainly not against the signing but he does seem like an option for any of the CB spots rather than a must have player. If Conte wants him I'm fine with it though but I'll be disappointed if we miss out on Gvardiol, Bastoni, Ginter etc and they go for reasonable money.

Yeah that's fair enough bud. I was just giving my own opinion about this particular link.

Would love to add another Korean to the squad especially one who is such a gifted athlete he definitely has a bit of van Dijk in him. Too bad hes 26 and the best league he's played in so far is turkey, he could have been a top 5 defender in the world if he had gone to a league that had forced him to work on his tactically reading of the game.

If he joins us, he will keep company with Son, so Kane would be able to spend more time with Mrs Kane.

Romero was doing this a lot too early on for us but he's learned/been coached not to. If we see enough potential in this guy perhaps that wouldn't be a massive issue ultimately.
