Tottenham boss Antonio Conte claims his squad was "weakened" in the January transfer window and he has now realised the vision of the club.

I would do the same if I were him. I feel like they got Conte by making empty promises and now they will pay the price for it. I don't see any respectable managers coming to this wretched club after he leaves.

those quotes don't sound too good oh dear lol.

But he's right, this is just a taste of the misery Levy and the rest will unleash on him the longer he stays.

Conte's just stoking the 'give me loads of money in the Summer' agenda as far as I'm concerned. Paratici shipped out Ndombele, Dele Gil and GLC who he wasn't using,. and brought in Bentancur and Kulu who he likes.

Firstly I'd suggest waiting for the full interview before making judgement on this, and secondly the ley part of those quotes that seems to be being over looked is "on paper". Obviously I'll wait until I've seen it in it's entirety but if he was actually saying he felt we were weaker as a squad he wouldn't have used those words "on paper".

To me it reads like everyone is saying we lost 4 and only brought in 2 so "on paper it looks weaker" the reality though is he has more players he trusts than he did at the start. Again that's only my reading of it and I'll wait until I've seen the whole thing before I start playing the blame game.

I'm with @Trix on this, but even if we're wrong, surely this is far more likely to be deflection tactics than a public display of dissatisfaction.

I don't know. It's easy to take quotes without context and interpret it anyway you like, as the Enic out brigade have done in the Conte thread. The one thing with Conte is he will always say it how it is, and doesn't really just deflect with stock answers. Just taking snippets from a long answer can be twisted to fit pretty much any narrative which is certainly the case here one way or the other. Until the full interview comes out and we here his answer in full, it's better to just reserve judgement. Not that it matters because those that have twisted this to be as negative as possible will just move on to the next headline they can manipulate to get angry about, and won't give this a second thought.

There is so much negativity around the club at the moment that it is depressing to see any comments that add to it. Conte very much shaped what happened in the transfer window by refusing to play the players who left. You would hope his relationship with Paratici is strong enough to understand why we didn’t get Traore and Diaz. If that isn’t the case we are stuffed. Rather than this negativity Conte should work to correct the tactical and selection errors that contributed to our recent defeats.

And then there is nuance. 'Weakened' is contextualised by Conte. 'Numerically... May have... On paper.' (see below, from 365). Conte may be speaking out of both sides of his mouth at once. But I don't think it's necessarily a criticism.
I'm not wedded to either judgement. Just saying.

“What happened in January is not easy. Four players left in January. Four important players for Tottenham, two have arrived. So even numerically instead of reinforcing yourself you may have, on paper, weakened.”

The four that went he didn't play anyway?
Conte has said that the decision to sideline n'dom was the club's and distanced himself from it.
Lo celso wanted more game time too but did nothing to justify it.
That doesn't mean conte wasn't happy to use both of them as options from the bench.
