Could Walker do a Bale?

Watching the game yesterday, if we ever needed him to could walker step in to lennon shoes and play RW?

Has he the potential to emulate Bale by moving positions?

He has the pace, some of the balls he runs on to, you would have thought he would have had to light a rocket in his arse to get them.

I'm sure he could but he's a better defender than Bale and we don't need a right winger right now. It's a nice option to have, that's for sure!

Agreed. I think Bale has more composure in the final third and a bit more technical ability, Walker has better defensive instincts. But I'm sure Walker could do a job as a RW, his pace would cause anyone problems.

What I like about Walker is he is a footballer, can pick out a pass and I don't think it is any coincidence that Lennons peformances have picked up this season in front of him.

In order to be an effective winger you have to be quite intelligent on and off the ball, and thats not easy to teach somebody. I'm not convinced Walker has that intelligence to go with his pace and strength - I think he's much better suited to a full-back role.

Bale is a one off.

This.

Walker is a top quality RB though... He pisses all over Glen Johnson and a number of other highly rated RB. I'm expecting some sniffing around in the summer, perhaps even from Barca or Madrid.

The People today says Real Madrid are looking at him, and value him at £20m.

Really can't wait to see my brother who kept claiming Liverpool's Martin Kelly would be England's right back for years to come while I was predicting 18 months ago that Walker would be England's right back at Euro 2012 - Walker looks like the real deal while Kelly can't get in the team ahead of Glen Johnson (who I agree is inferior to Walker in every aspect).

Also, what a great ball to Adebayor on the volley for our 2nd yesterday. Also won the corner for our 3rd after picking up the ball 40 yards out. Superb player - huge credit to whoever at Spurs spotted him so early at Sheff Utd.

:rofl::rofl:
I had this with a load of liverpool fans as well... I mean seriously, who the fuck is Martin bloody Kelly anyway??? He's done nothing to prove he's anything other than average... Those lot really are idiots.

Completely different. Bale for me was always an attacking winger long term central midfield player.

Walker has everything to cement England's right back spot for years, this seasons a good lesson for him...surprisingly fantastic in the air as well is Walker.

I'm sure Walker could do well as a winger, but I don't think he'd be as good as Bale. Wouldn't mind trying him out there, though. You never know.

What's wrong with him being a right back?

And what's wrong with Aaron Lennon at the moment?

Answer - nothing at all.

There's no need to try and make every player adept in a number of roles - I'd rather have a player who is among the very best in 1 role.

Bale / Ekotto
Walker / Lennon

We must have the speediest wide quartet in the Prem

I think walker and lennon compliment each other in terms of type of speed, with walker he has a great top speed and lennon you have quick acceleration

I hope he stays an attacking RB, giving us a Dani Alves-like option which is crucial when trying to break teams down.
